Job Description

Join the CJ Affiliate user experience team and help make CJ the best performance marketing platform available. The CJ user experience team is responsible for designing all product experiences for CJ. It consists of forward-thinking UXdesigners, UI designers, and researchers. Our focus is on our customers, driving impact across the company by meeting user-centered and business needs.

As a member of the team, your responsibility will be to design the entire user experience for the domain product you own. You will create elegant design solutions for various user personas and use cases on a global scale. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with product and engineering partners, as well as multiple teams within the broader CJ organization. As a senior designer, you will take ownership of the product domain experiences in the CJ platform and work towards a long-term design vision to elevate the UX standards for the domains you work in.

You should have a proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced, agile environment. Collaboration and a commitment to taking ownership when necessary are essential skills for this role.

About The Team

We are a diverse multidisciplinary team that creates meaningful products and experiences for thousands of CJ users, including employees and clients. Our team includes designers, researchers, product owners, and engineers. We value diversity in educational background, gender, race, skills, and location.

Key job responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the end-to-end product experiences and features across desktop, mobile, and other platforms.
  • Manage the user experience design for multiple medium to large-sized projects.
  • Contribute to the vision of the organization and influence the strategic roadmap of the product.
  • Lead the user experience research, design, and user testing phases of a project.
  • Promote a user-centered design culture.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver great user experiences.
  • Set an example of CJ leadership principles within their team and raise the design standards for the organization.
  • Provide coaching and feedback, with a focus on developing junior team members and leadership skills.
  • Create and promote the adoption of design guidelines, design systems, best practices, processes, and tools.

A day in the life

The senior UX designer will collaborate closely with product and engineering stakeholders on a daily basis. While independently owning multiple products/features, this designer will also work with other UX designers in the same team to create a cohesive experience by connecting individual features. UX researchers, UI designers, and UI engineers will assist in strategizing and implementing current design system patterns, guidelines, and content. The designer will regularly share design work for peer review within the design team, as well as for review by stakeholders and leadership.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of design experience
  • Online portfolio available
  • Ability to work regularly with team members and leadership across multiple time zones including the US and EU.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or a related field.
  • Experience delivering design solutions for large and complex projects.
  • Strong team player with proactive time management and delivery skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, able to influence other designers, PMs, and senior executives.
  • Experience creating prototypes or detailed wireframes for complex web applications using tools like Figma.
  • Ability to establish a UX design vision and develop an iterative plan to achieve that vision in a rapid, iterative design and development environment.
  • Experience working in an Agile team structure.
  • Experience designing platform patterns using large scale design systems.
  • Demonstrated history of gathering user data through usability studies and user research.
  • Experience in motion design, video animation, or illustration design is a plus.
