Job Description

We are recruiting for an Auditor on a Fixed Term Contract to work as a member of the Audit/Technical Team providing a high level of professional service to ensure the efficient undertaking of third party and/or retailer / client audits.

To coordinate and undertake audit visits to clients sites within the scope of the defined competencies, potentially including BRC Global Standards or client specific Standards in line with the requirements of clients or ISO/IEC17065, as appropriate.

  • Liaison with clients to ensure completion of audit related operations within the required timescale
  • Undertaking audits in line with relevant procedures
  • Compiling detailed reports of visits and findings in a timely manner
  • Undertaking review of corrective actions and when necessary revert to client for further information / detail
  • Liaison with Scheduler and Certification Coordinator regarding the Certification as necessary.
  • Undertaking review of third party reports for clients
  • Overseas travel and overnight stays.
  • Keeping up to date with legislation and relevant Codes of Practice.
  • Carrying out Witness audits if required to assist with the approval of new auditors

In addition, relevant audit documents should be completed, signed and filed in the designated client files and any other duties which may reasonably be expected to fall within the scope of this position from time to time. The auditor will also be responsible for booking their own travel and accommodation arrangements through the on-line booking system.

Qualifications

  • Food Technology / Science or industry-related qualification
  • Industry experience according to specific audit protocol / scheme requirements - typically at least five years post-graduation.
  • Lead Auditor trained – according to protocol / scheme requirements
  • HACCP trained - at least Intermediate / Level 3
  • Completion of relevant training in relevant BRC Global Standards, for example through Update training as required by role
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and databases.
  • EQIPT certification – for BRC Packaging and Packaging Materials auditors
