We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Mid Level Inventory Specialist located in Poway, CA.

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for planning and controlling inventory levels to meet field and repair needs. Maintains input to inventory systems. Reviews and analyzes requirements and inventory levels and generates purchase requisitions as required. Coordinates transfer of stock, tracks shortages, and expedites as required. Updates and monitors stock levels for changing configurations, updates and new capabilities. Determine sparing levels to support deployments. Train Contractor Inventory Control Point-C-ICP personnel to use the supply database to receive, issue and stock field requisitions.


  • Reviews and monitors material requirements based on known requirements and field requisitions.
  • Identifies inventory to be redirected from sites with an excess asset position.
  • Generates purchase requisitions and sales orders to meet project(s) and production requirements, some of which may be complex.
  • Determine and ensure that spares are prepositioned to the operating locations prior to new capability becoming operational.
  • Sets up min/max/reorder quantities for applicable parts. Analyzes and replenishes inventory utilizing Min-Max reports. Creates a monthly reorder list and fast mover list.
  • Reviews and analyzes cycle count results, and participates in resolution of inventory discrepancies.
  • Compiles various routine and non-routine inventory reports, some of which may be complex, using appropriate computer system(s) or hard copy documents.
  • Assists in identifying future High-Time material requirements. May perform requirements computations to ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Assists in the analysis and resolution of obsolete and excess inventory. Recommends solutions to ensure requirements are met. Reviews and approves unplanned issues from inventory.
  • Assists with investigations and analysis of inventory activities.
  • Responds to routine verbal and written requests for information from internal sources.
  • May provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and five or more years of related experience in inventory planning and control. Additional education may be substituted in lieu of experience.
  • Must have a detailed understanding of inventory planning and control concepts and principles and a working knowledge of computer based manufacturing systems and MRP.
  • Must be customer focused and possess: (1) the ability to identify and analyze complex issues and interpret data; (2) strong organization skills to maintain flow of work within the unit; (3) excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to interface with all levels of internal employees and to accurately document and report; and, (4) general knowledge of computer operations, applications, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
  •  A thorough knowledge of DOD supply chain desired.
