The team consists of first line of defense Data Governance and Data Privacy officers whose vision is to ensure Enterprise Data is well understood, trusted and prioritized for remediation. Our mission is to ensure data assets are well governed and protected throughout their lifecycle. We put in place frameworks, policy and procedures and trainings to enable this.

The Data Governance Officer provides expertise in delivering Enterprise-level data change. They play a critical role, responsible for overseeing, coordinating and managing data-related initiatives as part of AAM’s Data Strategy. In doing so they contribute to delivering the business and IT change necessary to be a data-driven Asset Manager.

Your main responsibilities

Project management and coordination

  • Work closely with CDO, cross-functional teams to develop scope, deliverables, resourcing requirements, work plan, budget and timing for new initiatives.
  • Manage initiative teams for optimal return on investment and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives.
  • Develop and manage budget for Data initiatives and be responsible for delivering against established business objectives.
  • Highlight and manage project risks and issues.
  • Report on progress and provide project oversight

Communication and collaboration

  • Facilitate ongoing communication with initiative owners, senior stakeholders and those impacted by the change.
  • Plan and facilitate standard meetings related to the data initiatives.
  • Collaborating with data stakeholders across business and IT to deliver change
  • Design, develop, and incubate metrics, reports, and dashboards to provide oversight and insight into key activities and drive key business decisions.

Change management.

  • Stakeholder management
  • Provide expertise in Change Management
  • Develop training materials to support the onboarding and adoption of the data-related initiatives in BAU.

Data Governance

  • Establish and maintain written standards and procedures to comply with data policy and standards.
  • Ensure effective controls are integrated into business processes to mitigate data risks.
  • Safeguard data integrity, security, and compliance.

  • Good communication skills, also with presenting to (senior) stakeholders;
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite including MS Excel, Business intelligence and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of Data Management industry frameworks (e.g. DAMA, DCAM), principles and practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject – preferred not essential;
  • 5+ years’ of relevant working experience in Data Management, Data Governance practices
  • Preferably some experience within a corporate working environment;
  • Experience with working in the financial industry is a plus.
