We’re looking for Director, Liberty Procurement Services (LPS) Strategy and Solutions in London UK

As the Director – LPS Strategy & Solutions for Liberty Procurement Services, your primary responsibility will be to lead the development and implementation of critical initiatives and propositions that improve the LPS competitive edge and drive growth within and beyond the Liberty Global Federation. You will play a vital role in crafting the overall LPS strategy, identifying market opportunities, and ensuring effective execution of strategic plans. This is a leadership role that requires a strong strategic approach, creative foresight, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will be hard-working, motivated and have demonstrable experience working within a fast paced, demanding environment. Prior experience in procurement is critical. Specific strategic experience gained within the procurement services market (consulting, managed service or technology segments) would also be preferred. We are particularly looking for someone who has an interest and solid understanding of both the evolving procure-tech and global sustainability landscapes, both existing and emerging.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategic Direction: Lead the development and refinement of the LPS overall strategic plan (including the long range financial plan), aligning it with the business goals and objectives. Collaborate with the LPS management team and broader LG/LFS SMEs to define the strategic direction and identify growth opportunities.

Corporate Development: Lead the identification and evaluation of partnerships, acquisitions, and expansion opportunities to drive LPS growth. Work closely with broader Liberty Global and LFS M&A/corporate development teams to assess market feasibility, perform due diligence, and develop partnership/acquisition plan models.

Strategic projects: Lead the identification and delivery of LPS strategic projects e.g. new market evaluation, regulatory/compliance change and impacts, operating model projects.

Market Analysis: Deliver comprehensive market research and analysis on the procurement-as-a-service market to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and potential risks. Stay up-to-date with industry developments, regulatory changes and other anticipated changes that may impact the LPS strategy.

Competitive Analysis: Conduct competitive intelligence activities to monitor competitors' strategies, proposition/product offerings, pricing models, and market positioning. Use this information to identify areas where LPS can differentiate and gain a competitive advantage.

Value Proposition Development: Lead the definition and articulation of compelling value propositions for LPS solutions. Develop a deep understanding of client pain problems and competitive landscape to differentiate the company's offerings and communicate outstanding value to target customers through compelling proposals.

Solution Strategy, Roadmap and Delivery: Build a comprehensive solution strategy and roadmap aligned with LPS overall business goals and market needs. Lead the solution development process, including design, development, and launch. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as LSS technology and LPS service development, sales & marketing and delivery operations to ensure successful solution delivery and market adoption.

Team Leadership and Development: Recruit, train, and mentor an impactful strategy and solutions team. Set clear goals and expectations, provide mentorship and support, and champion a culture of continuous learning and development.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including LPS delivery, sales & marketing, and finance, to align strategic objectives and ensure effective execution. Cultivate a culture of collaboration and cross-functional communication to drive critical initiatives forward.

Industry Engagement and Thought Leadership: Represent LPS at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities. Act as a spokesperson in the procurement services domain, sharing expertise, insights, and best practices to build LPS's reputation and credibility.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, procurement/supply chain, finance, technology or a related field. MBA or advanced degree/qualification is preferred.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Demonstrable experience gained in strategic consulting or other corporate strategy departments within the field of procurement/supply chain.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into practical insights.
  • Excellent understanding of procurement services market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive landscape. Specific outsourcing experience highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding and interest in procurement technology landscape and how this will alter the future of procurement.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading successful critical initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication and story-telling skills, with the ability to effectively convey sophisticated ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on encouraging a collaborative work environment.
  • High level of business intuition, with a strong understanding of procurement and financial principles and metrics.
  • Proficiency in using analytical tools and market research techniques
  • Ability to deliver to tight timescales
  • Experience operating in an international/multi-country/matrix environment
