JOB DESCRIPTION:

JOB TITLE: Sr. Sales Engineer 

REPORTING TO: Regional Head / Territory Manager

PURPOSE OF JOB:

Responsible for managing the sales in a key focussed territory / region . This will include the management of key end customers, OEM’s and specialist channel partners. The incumbent in this

role will beexpected to work under the supervision / guidance of concerned Manager towards defined key goals including Sales turnover, profitability,new product growth and key territory growth.

KEY SKILLS:

  • A consummate Business Development Professional preferably holding a degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (Bachelors or Masters level).
  • 4-10 years experience of selling, preferably working for companies within the Industrial manufactured products sales vertical.
  • He / She will demonstrate a sound understanding of the Industrial Sales market in India and the customers as well as the key issues affecting the markets. He / She will also have demonstrable experience in working with these markets and a deep understandingof the decision making process and the complex nature of the major projects.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Hindi is essential.
  • A high degree of cooperation and team work within other Everest Group Industries Divisions in the region will be essential. The candidate will therefore be required to demonstrate the ability to work closely both regionally and nationally with other team members.
  • A high degree of competence in use of tools for analysis of data for sales planning purposes– particularly Excel and creating and delivering PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ability to travel frequently

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Agree a businessplan with the concerned Manager with specific objectives of developing topline sales in the given territory areas– defined by territory and by growth product areas.
  • Visit customers and key decision makers in line with the current sales strategy of the company.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and potential new routes to market, developing a business development strategy relating to the sales objective.
  • Visit and manage specific key accounts on a local basis, being aware of the business relationships that may exist with their external customers and the major projects in which they are a part.
  • Follow up and document all enquiries and quotations into designated area and customer base. Also produce own quotations as and when needed. (majority of quotations will be produced by the internal sales team, but it is essential that sales managers are able to generate own quotes when situation dictates)
  • Undertake at all times to use the EBSPL CRM system to ensure that there is an advance call programme of the visits planned for the forthcoming time periods, complete with company name, town/city, the person to be seen and objectives. Ensure that there is follow up on calls including notes and actions from the meetings. Use the CRM system to forecast and track all projects and share information across the wider (division) sales team.
  • Plan territory and strategic actions in line with EBSPL specific agreed objectives
  • Attend periodic sales reviews with the concerned Manager in order to monitor progress, agree actions and specific objectives for the following quarter.
  • Provide sales and technical support to specialistOEM’s / distributors in order to develop sales in new and existing markets.
  • Remain up to date with relevant regulations and standards governing our industry, so that up to date information is always disseminated to relevant parties.
  • Undertake product training to remain technically and commercially proficient on EBSPL products
  • Attend training sessions and seminars as and when required either in the field or at EBSPL Offices.
  • Work within the EBSPL pricing policy at all times, liaising closely with the Internal sales Department to ensure that all special prices/deals are registered in the office.
  • Execute marketing projects in the field to agreed standards and timescales. This will include written and verbal feedback and follow up activities as individually specified.
  • Provide cover in the concerned Managers’ areas whenever required during periods of absence or holidays
