We are looking for software engineers to strengthen our software development team by Bruker AXS in Karlsruhe. Bruker AXS, being part of the Bruker Corporation, is a leading global developer and manufacturer of analytical X-ray systems for elemental analysis and materials research. Our innovative solutions enable a wide range of customers in research and industry – including chemistry, petrochemistry, pharmaceuticals, metals and steel, semiconductor, cement, minerals and mining, automotive, forensics, environmental, art and conservation, nanotechnology and life sciences – to make technological advancements and accelerate their progress.

Responsibilities

  • Working in small teams on the architecture and implementation of .NET desktop applications to allow customers to design and execute complex experiments
  • Writing clean, well-documented, well-tested and efficient code
  • Troubleshooting and resolving software defects and technical issues
  • Ensuring application performance, security and scalability
  • Maintaining software packages and applications throughout the product lifecycle
  • Staying up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends
  • Collaborating with other software teams
  • Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team covering mechanical design, electronics, physics, analytics
  • Collaborating with team members to continuously improve development and testing processes and standards

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge and skills
  • Experience in C# using .NET Framework 4.6+
  • Experience with code repositories (GIT, TFVS), DevOps CI/CD build processes
  • Experience in front-end development and UX design appreciated
  • Experience with user requirement specification, user stories and prototyping
  • Solid understanding of the practical application of agile development methods
  • Good knowledge of software engineering best practices and the full development lifecycle
  • Teamwork skills, initiative and a sense of responsibility
  • Appreciation and understanding of different cultures and religions
  • Proficient English and good communication skills for both intern and world-wide teleconferences
  • German language skills are a plus
