What you’ll do at Elekta 

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be reporting to the Manager Control System, and developing Control Systems related software for our Stereotactic Radiosurgery system (The Leksell Gamma Knife). The Control System is a complex and integrated system that controls multiple axes in the machine to safely deliver radiation to the patient.

You will be contributing to all phases of the product creation process including requirements, design, implementation, and testing. You will be working in a scrum team as part of an Agile Release Train following Scaled Agile (SAFe). In addition to this, other responsibilities include:

  • Software implementation, primarily in C++ including unit/integration test 
  • Reviewing code and software-related artifacts 
  • Participating in architectural and detailed design creating the appropriate documentation 
  • Participating in requirements engineering and product risk management 
  • Ensure that software designs are safe and comply with all applicable regulatory standards

The right stuff

To be able to be successful in the role as Lead Software Engineer here at Elekta we think that you have:

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering Physics, Electronics or similar.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken. 
  • C++ programming
  • Proven experience in system design followed through to product release in cross-functional projects.
  • Experience of regulated industry preferably from Medtech.
  • Experience in Software Engineering in a product development organization.
  • Experience in Test automation
  • Familiarity with coding for Safety applications.
  • Development of test frameworks and simulators (Python)
