Job Description:

As a Principal Process Engineer, you will be involved with the development and modification of all new and existing product processes. You will work with a cross functional team of Engineers, Product Line Managers and Engineering Assistants to support all product lines. The Process Engineer designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Required

  • BS Degree or higher in Engineering or Science with minimum of 15 years related experience in electronics manufacturing and assembly. Direct experience in the field of RF/Microwave components and systems
  • Provides assistance and input in Design For Manufacturing (DFM) to the design teams.
  • Works on multiple projects requiring innovative solutions that advance relevant technologies/processes.
  • Analyses assembly flow and throughput for various processes and provides inputs on Equipment acquisition/development/modification to improve quality, reduce cost and increase production capacity.
  • Performs PFMEA on new processes to ensure they are efficient, predictable, cost-effective, and meet the required cost targets, quality, and reliability levels.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing control methods, establishing process capability controls, and monitoring the processes on an ongoing basis.
  • Identifies, qualifies, and manages external contract manufacturers and material vendors.
  • Manages and qualifies process transfers to other facilities as well as external partners.

Desirable

  • Experience in semiconductor assembly and packaging is a plus.
  • Knowledge of various available assembly processes/technologies such as surface mount, high frequency assemblies, Die and wire attach, encapsulation.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, PCB technologies, plating processes, adhesive/encapsulant material, and solder material.
  • Knowledge of MIL-PRF-19500, MIL-STD-750, MIL-STD-883 and other applicable Test Methods.
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical process control and problem-solving techniques.
  • Direct experience in manufacturing and assembly processes of RF and Microwave products.
  • Familiarity with automated assembly and device handling equipment.
  • Process development, presenting technical information.
  • Analytical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, oral and written communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical process control and problem-solving techniques
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Solidworks.
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to write detailed well-structured technical reports.
