Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence & Data Visualization

VML is looking for a smart, passionate person with business savvy to help power the Innovation and Data Group. The primary function of this role is to be a part of a team responsible for driving the strategic vision and execution for Business Intelligence and Data Visualization. This role will support the capability of the team and company. You will own and be responsible for the building of a portfolio of enterprise-wide dashboards. Please note this role will be based I nToronto but will support our US team.

What you will do?

• Design, develop, and implement advanced visualization applications and executive-level interactive dashboards to communicate advanced analytics models and solutions
• Engage with stakeholders and analytics business partners to understand business needs and translate requirements into advanced visualization designs and sustainable tools
• Collaborate with stakeholders and data scientists to understand requirements, models and advanced analytics solutions and identify optimal approaches to visualize and report dynamic outputs
• Create intuitive business intelligence tools leveraging Power BI dashboards to provide insights and direction to field representatives, management, and executives

Design data architecture models and maintain standards of the Unified Data Model and conformed dimensions

• Collaborate with data engineers to design the warehousing architecture required to support visualization applications and to ensure sustainable and timely data pipelines and successful implementation and maintenance
• Drive user adoption of visualization applications
• Create documentation and deliver training to business users on the use of advanced tools and systems
• Establish subject matter expertise and strongly influence our data visualization strategy
• Build POCs to explore new features, tools & technologies
• Collaborate with other WPP visualization professionals to share best practices & techniques
• Maintain dashboard and user security group policies

What it takes?

• 3+ years of BI and data visualization experience
• At least 2+ years of experience in the Power BI platform specifically
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI service and apps is a plus
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Looker, Power BI, Tableau or other reporting and insights platforms
• Background in data architecture of development
• Strong business intelligence skills
• Advertising agency and/or automotive marketing experience a plus
• Exceptional planning, coordination, management, and communication skills
• Enjoys creating new ways of working that scale, without being overly process-heavy
• Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a diverse group of staff
• Ability to handle pressures and deadlines
• Attention to detail
