Job Description

The SAP S/4HANA Application Manager is a pivotal role in our organization, serving as the primary liaison between the SAP Director, business leads, and the support team. This individual will oversee the management and smooth operation of the SAP S/4HANA system in a large-sized company, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in meeting business needs. Success in this role requires strong technical, application, communication, documentation, organization, innovation, and cross-departmental partnering skills. 

Key Responsibilities

  • System Management and Optimization: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the SAP S/4HANA system, ensuring its optimal performance and alignment with business objectives. 
  • Liaison Role: Act as the primary contact point between the SAP Director, business leads, and the technical support team, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Financial Modules Expertise: Manage and support the Financial modules within SAP, applying deep knowledge and experience to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
  • Integration Management: Manage integration points between SAP S/4HANA and other systems within the organization's landscape. Collaborate with internal/external teams to ensure smooth data flow across various applications.
  • Technical, Functional, and Basis Management: Provide comprehensive management of the SAP S/4Hana system, encompassing technical aspects, functional capabilities, and basis administration. 
  • SAP S/4Hana support process and activities: Oversee the day-to-day activities, including ticket system, prioritization, communication, and resolution as well as coordinate related escalation processes. 
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to users, enhancing their understanding and use of the SAP S/4Hana system, and addressing any issues or queries promptly.
  • Security and Authorization: Define and manage security roles and authorizations within SAP S/4HANA. Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
  • Upgrade and Patch Management: Plan and coordinate system upgrades and patches to keep the SAP S/4HANA system current and secure. Coordinate with technical teams and stakeholders to minimize downtime and impact during upgrades.
  • Data Management: Oversee data migration activities during system implementations and upgrades. Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the SAP S/4HANA system.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures. Ensure documentation is up-to-date with changes and enhancements.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with SAP and other relevant vendors to address issues, apply patches, and stay informed about product updates. Manage relationships with external consultants or service providers.
  • Performance Reporting: Generate and analyze performance reports to assess system effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Provide regular updates to management on system performance and key metrics.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and improve the SAP S/4 Hana system's functionality and performance, staying abreast of the latest SAP developments and best practices.
  • Project Management: Lead and participate in SAP-related projects, from planning and implementation to monitoring and reporting, ensuring project objectives are met within time and budget constraints.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the SAP S/4Hana system, ensuring data integrity and system security at all times.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in managing Financial modules in SAP S/4Hana, preferably in a large-sized company.
  • Proven expertise in SAP S/4HANA, with a comprehensive understanding of its capabilities and limitations.
  • Hands on experience in technical configuration in SAP S/4HANA of custom RICEFW objects/developments
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading SAP-related projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively liaising with various stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering practical and efficient solutions.
  • A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • SAP certification in relevant modules or technologies highly preferred.
  • Experience in change management and process improvement within an SAP environment preferred.
