BREDS - Asset Management, Principal

Job Description:

BREDS asset management professionals will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of real estate loan asset management and be staffed on a number of assignments at once. Due to the relatively small size of the professional staff, team members have the opportunity to assume lead roles on projects and deal teams.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of complex private commercial real estate debt investments, including performing and non-performing loans
  • Borrower relationship management, asset tours and market research
  • Leading loan and real estate asset underwriting, valuation and due diligence
  • Developing presentations for internal and external use, including investor reporting
  • Participating in internal and external client meetings and the negotiation of contracts
  • Overseeing the work of Associates and Analysts
  • Executing a wide range of transactions, including loan modifications, restructurings and workouts, lease and budget approvals, property releases, capital expenditure fundings, and due diligence

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should have:

  • 6+ years relevant work experience
  • High level of competence with respect to analysis, loan management and reporting, and property valuation
  • Competency in all stages of transaction execution including term sheet and loan document negotiation
  • Experience developing and maintaining market relationships
  • Outstanding initiative and comfort being a self-starter
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Willingness to travel
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong numerical/quantitative skills
  • Team-oriented and collaborative
  • Strong integrity and professionalism
  • Results focused

Expected annual base salary range:

$210,000 - $250,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
