Position Summary:

The HR Country Generalist is a member of the people services organisation within Human Resources.

They will be the primary point of contact for People Managers, in addition to managing proactive support to the Netherlands workforce as part of the People Services and HR team. The roles will work with the country HR and leaders in Leiden and Utrecht in support of building teams that drive BMS’s business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted advisor to employees and managers with guidance and support for more complex workforce management, performance management, total rewards programs, and HR policy advice; and
  • Proactively plans and implements strategies to upskill new People Managers and provide support and counsel to experience People Managers when navigating through various HR processes and issues.
  • Partner with the HRBP and site leads to develop and implement the local Employee Value Proposition (EVP), in partnership with global and project stakeholders.
  • Supervising absenteeism, in compliance with the applicable Dutch regulations. Acting as the case manager to ensure all absent requirements are completed accordingly.
  • Work with the HRBP to support and drive Change Management plans for incoming and settling functions and capabilities, and in support of initiative and evolutions.
  • Monitoring compliance with all applicable BMS policies and seeks appropriate counsel.
  • Driving organizational commitment to leverage diversity to our competitive advantage.
  • Have a deep understanding of employment legislation to ensure that processes and policies adhere to the changing legislation.
  • Deliver on global and regional projects support in HR process or systems changes.
  • Work collaboratively within the HRBP to share ideas, ownership, and accountability for driving improvements and consistency of execution for key HR processes, across regions and functional areas.
  • Manages or supports various projects related to employee engagement or workforce planning, in addition to core PS activities.
  • Support HRA Supervisor in building the capability of HR Advisors in Chester to support the market, with day-to-day cases, to help provide the best customer experience in the market.
  • Support other markets, as required.

Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years HR experience, preferably in an international matrixed environment, or a plant based location. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or equivalent
  • Experience or exposure to HR Generalist activities.
  • Experience of absence case management within the Dutch market.
  • Proven Business & Analytical Acumen along with problem solving and diagnostic skills. Data literacy, analytics, and ability to frame and articulate storytelling based on complex data set.
  • Ability to “flex” across different types of cultures, work, complexities, business situations Proven experience in performing effectively in a matrix, cross- functional and team environment.
  • Demonstrated use of communication and change management strategies/tactics to influence new ways of thinking and working.
