About the department

Global Medical Affairs, Bangalore (GMA BLR) is an extension of the Global Medical Affairs unit in Headquarters (HQ) in Denmark and is based out of Global Business Services (GBS), Bangalore, India. One of the team within GMA BLR is Medical Affairs department including a sub-team for obesity portfolio and new therapy. The team consists of highly motivated and experienced global medical advisors working with global teams cross functionally and medical affairs director areas based at HQ (Copenhagen, Denmark). This team is responsible for planning and executing the medical affairs strategy for products accountable by (GMA BLR) and supporting the medical affairs strategic actions for the GLP-1 obesity portfolio and new therapy areas, currently managed by teams at Copenhagen, Denmark.

Our core competencies are 1) Communicating scientific and medical knowledge on our products to the external scientific community and across the organization; 2) Evidence generation and support to clinical trial program across phases and newer therapy areas; 3) Publication planning- drive development of publications according to publication plan and strategy for each product/project in collaboration with the Global Publication Team; 4) KOL engagement activities- contribute to and execute global Health Care Professionals strategy, execute global meetings/advisory boards and support speakers in preparation for presentation of NN data at conferences and symposia 5) Medical educational events including symposiums at international congresses and stand-alone summits/virtual webinars ; 6) Internal Medical guidance - Support execution of global medical strategy, support alignment of relevant cross-functional business activities on specific product/project, support development of promotional materials initiated by Global Marketing.

The Position

Global Medical Advisor, functionally a part of global medical affairs Alzheimer’s disease team , GMA BLR. Responsible for allocated activities within the Alzheimer’s disease therapy area. Responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate and credible building of scientific and medical knowledge. Strive to be the global specialist on the product/project within his/ her responsibility towards internal and external customers. Responsible for the pre-authorisation of medico-marketing activities including the development of promotional material and API updates. Provide medical and scientific support for key opinion leaders (KOLs) and other healthcare professionals (HCPs - nurses, pharmacists, etc) on a product. Internally, collaborate with colleagues across the functions e.g. Global Development, Regulatory, Safety, Marketing, Corporate Communication and affiliates.

Responsible for further cascading of the global medical affairs strategy incl. publication strategy in alignment with the brand strategy set by the CCT/GPT to the countries supported by GBS Bangalore. Responsible for securing links, information flow to, maintenance and further development of key opinion leaders. Secure these relationships in order to obtain challenge and interpretation of protocols, clinical data and strategic approach to optimize product use and value. The scientific leader’s opinion will be solicited for our understanding of further need of clinical research.

Qualifications

  • We expect you to be a Medical doctor with M.B.B.S and MD and has the below qualifications,
  • Has minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience in the field of medical affairs/ clinical (preferable), and/or pharmaceutical development/business experience.
  • Experience with clinical medicine, clinical research and drug development
  • Understanding of pharma business, pharma marketing practices and pharma law and guidance.
  • Authored personal publications, held international medical presentations and written synopsis and protocols (preferable).
  • Strong professionalism, dedication and willingness to travel is essential.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English.
