ADP is hiring a Director - Technical Program Manager.

In this role, you will be the person who keeps our program owners on track, on budget, and on time for new and improved services in the Global Security Organization. Working alongside various functional leads, Project Managers and team members, you remove roadblocks and keep security specialists focusing on delivering next generation risk reduction and threat mitigation initiatives. Whether it’s reporting, brainstorming, negotiating, seeking sponsor support, coaching, cutting meetings short or auditing the process - you’ll be in charge of keeping the programs moving.

Not two days are the same. You will work alongside a team of passionate, creative security specialist to define, plan, execute and monitor your programs, communicating with your team or communicating across other functions to avoid potential issues in their delivery. You’ll plan, coordinate, and implement programs to meet goals within agreed-upon timelines. While every day is fast-moving and unpredictable, one thing is sure: people skills are necessary for every aspect of this job.

To thrive in this role, you must understand technical and security program lifecycle in an Waterfall and Agile environment as well as have prior program management experience working as a program and project manager, team lead or release train engineer. Ideally, you’ve managed sets of projects from inception to production at an enterprise level and led less tenured Project Managers. Our best Program managers show initiative, try new things and learn from their mistakes along the way. PMP and CISSP (or other security/technical certifications) are preferred but not required.

You must be comfortable enough with technical and security disciplines to understand what the programs deliver, early identify risks that might impact the team or the programs and communicate results and challenges to various stakeholders. A little about the Global Security Organization: The GSO is a cross-divisional, converged security team that has a multi-disciplinary approach in cyber and information security and compliance, operational risk management, client security management, workforce protection, and business resilience. The GSO is charged with the design, implementation and oversight of our information security program based on corporate policies. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Here’s what you can expect on a typical day:

  • Program Manage. You will lead various project teams to understand responsibilities, identify issues, and communicate priorities. You will manage the program activities, budget and risk during its lifecycle. You will direct day-to-day activities of projects and staff in matrixed organization and identify and track program dependencies with other programs, projects or ADP functions. You will ensure milestones are successfully met through oversight of project vehicles and coordination of resources You will be the point of contact for Program Owners to assess, manage, resolve and escalate (if necessary) risks and issues.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments impacting the program and lead communication with stakeholders and team members through operationalization of the program. Tailor processes to meet the needs of individual projects and programs. Make decisions based on information and input in a timely manner.
  • You’re the point of contact for the program. You’ll share information with your teammates, mark milestones, and provide metrics and status updates to product owners and program sponsors as well as top executives.
  • As a program manager, you are very organized, and you keep everyone on task. Is a meeting going off-topic? You’ll pull the team back to the agenda. Scope creeping? You’ll stay on top of the schedule, remove barriers, identify dependencies, and mitigate risks.
  • Variety of tasks. There is no typical day. You could coach a teammate, deliver a status update to executives in other departments, or make sure we have deployed our resources in the best possible way. You will manage many competing priorities, so a fast pace should not scare you. You pride yourself on having flexibility and agility and can change directions without a second thought.
  • Servant Leadership. Your job is to help everyone else work better. What tasks or issues can you handle so your security program team can keep working? What barriers can you remove?

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications or related engineering field OR equivalent.
  • Having experience managing large cross-functional programs/teams.
  • You bring at least five to ten years of project/program management experience working on technical / security / cloud projects. You possess experience in AGILE methodologies.
  • You bring technical experience with items such as: Deploying new technologies, physical security, risk reduction, risk awareness and training, incident management, fraud, privacy, integrations for security work streams, security penetration testing and identifying vulnerabilities.
  • You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical skills and experience on security metrics ad KPI.
  • You have sound knowledge of Security and Compliance.
  • You are motivated, very organized and able to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • You demonstrate strong partnership and collaboration in a teaming environment.
  • You have the ability to manage tight deadlines.
  • You have experience in MS Project, SPO, JIRA Align, JIRA Software, Rally, or others. Highly proficient in MS Office suite (or alike)
