Senior Database Architect - (240000IJ)

Description

The Sr. Database Architect will provide specialized DBA support with a focus on Oracle OCI Database and MS SQL Server. This includes all aspects of database administration such as design, generation, coding, and production support.

They will utilize the advanced features of Oracle OCI Database and MS SQL Server to optimize database performance and ensure data integrity. This includes leveraging Oracle’s efficient use of system memory and network connectivity, and MS SQL Server’s breakthrough performance capabilities.

The architect will also provide timely and creative solutions to user problems, ensuring high productivity across teams. This role requires not only a deep understanding of Oracle OCI Database and MS SQL Server technologies but also a commitment to staying abreast of the latest advancements in these systems.

In addition, the architect will work closely with application teams, providing them with the necessary DBA services and collaborating on database design and generation. This role is pivotal in maintaining high-quality database systems that meet the needs of users and support the goals of the organization.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Systems OR Relevant experience in database architecture beyond the minimum required work experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a 1-1 ration i.e. one year of relevant work experience equals one year of required education. (Required)

Minimum Work Experience

10 years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with multiple distributed relational DBSM’s (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge

Exposure and practice at using the DBMS to optimize performance of large databases for enterprise use is preferred.

Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database is desirable.

Functional Accountabilities

  • Provide Development and/or Production support, including creating primary database storage structures, designing and creating primary objects, modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance, creating documentation, designing interfaces, database objects, and creating plans.
  • Monitor and optimize performance of the database, plan for backup and recovery of the database, and allocate system storage and plan future storage needs.
  • Create database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments.
