JOB DESCRIPTION:
Develops, implements, and maintains comprehensive health care programs for athletes and other patients. Under the direction of, on the prescription of or in collaboration with a physician, the practice of athletic training includes the treatment of an individual for risk management injury prevention, clinical evaluation and assessment, immediate care and treatment, and rehabilitation and reconditioning of injury or illness, or both. The Athletic Trainer is placed in various sites for provision of services including, but not limited to, high school/college/university, outreach programming, community events and engagements, and HFHS sites.
The athletic trainer’s primary assignment will be UD Mercy men’s lacrosse, with other sports as assigned. The AT will complete approximately 1720 hours of athletic training services at UDM; however, additional hours outside of the school for Henry Ford Health System may be assigned. The AT will effectively communicate with the other athletic trainers at UD Mercy, while serving as a liaison for their athletic department to Henry Ford Health System.
