The Software Engineer 2 role at Granicus is for developers who are looking for a fun, supportive, and fast-paced environment to grow their skills and contribute code to production systems.

The Software Engineer 2 role will be expected to take on leadership roles in the maintenance of automation test suites, and they will be tasked to work on production code as well. All Granicus Software Engineers are expected to contribute to the broader Granicus technology organization in the deployment and support of these applications in higher environments.

What your impact will look like here:

  • Learn about and uphold the Development team’s core values: Test-Driven Development, Collective Ownership, Agile Development, and Egoless Programming
  • Write high-quality software using test-focused practices
  • Be a core contributor to Granicus's automated testing suites
  • Develop bug fixes and feature changes for at least one application within the Granicus product suite
  • Collaborate with your Scrum team, the Development team, and the broader Product Organization
  • Be a participating member of the broader Granicus technology organization 

You will love this job if you have:

  • 3+ years of .NET development experience.
  • Experience with C#, .NET and at least one related framework, i.e. ASP.NET WebForm/MVC, .NET Core, or others.
  • Experience with relational databases (MSSQL, MySQL) and .NET ORM Frameworks i.e. Entity Framework.
  • Knowledge of HTML 5, CSS, Java Script.
  • Knowledge of at least one related web framework, i.e. Angular, React, jQuery, or others.
  • Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC).
  • Experience with Azure or AWS is a plus.
  • Experience with Accessibility is a plus.
  • Experience developing unit tests.
  • Experience testing and/or supporting production-quality web applications.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture.
  • Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages.
  • Test and deploy applications and systems.
  • Revise, update, refactor and debug code.
  • Commitment to quality and the craft of software development.
  • Passion for learning new things.
  • Improve existing software.
  • Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Interest in being a part of an open, collaborative, and extraordinarily skilled software development team in which to grow their skills.
