As a member of the OCI Enterprise Engineering Content, Search, and AI Services team, responsible for developing, delivering, and supporting major corporate Services and platforms like Oracle.com, Java.com, Enterprise Cognitive Digital Assistant Services, and AI Service Desk. 

As an Enterprise ML Developer, we seek an expert in machine learning to help us extract value from our data. You will implement all the processes from data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing to training models and deploying them to production. The ideal candidate will be passionate about artificial intelligence and stay up to date with the latest developments in the field. 

Responsibilities 

  • Understand business objectives and develop models that help to achieve them, along with metrics to track their progress. 
  • Apply your advanced understanding of machine learning principles, including advanced analytics tools, applied mathematics, ML and Deep Learning frameworks and libraries, and ML techniques to design, build and support machine learning to achieve high quality generative AI user experiences. 
  • Analyze the ML algorithms that could be used to solve a given problem and rank them by their probability of success. 
  • Explore and visualize data to understand it, then identify differences in data distribution that could affect performance when deploying the model in the real world. 
  • Verify data quality and collaborate with data pipeline engineers on goals to obtain required quality 
  • Define validation and testing strategies. 
  • Define and implement the preprocessing or feature engineering to be done on a given dataset. Define and implement data augmentation pipelines. 
  • Train models and tune their hyperparameters. 
  • Analyze the errors of the model and design strategies to overcome them. 
  • Develop and use DevOps tools and CI/CD methods to deploy models to production. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. 
  • Proficiency with a deep learning framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras and and/or natural language processing using NLTK, spaCy, Gensim, etc. 
  • Proficiency in Python and basic libraries for machine learning such as scikit-learn and Pandas, as well as Jupyter Notebooks for all sorts of data science tasks. 
  • Expertise in visualizing and manipulating big datasets. 
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in building and deploying Machine Learning solutions using various supervised/unsupervised ML algorithms such as Linear/Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machines, (Deep) Neural Networks, Random Forest, etc., 
  • 2+ years of experience in building solutions for AI/ML cognitive services and platforms with models in production, ML Ops, CI/CD automation of ML pipelines in a cloud-based environment e.g., OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP) 
  • Experience working with large transformer-based architectures for NLP, CV, ASR, or others. 
  • Experience working with RAG technologies such as LLM frameworks (Langchain and LLamaIndex), LLM model registries (Hugging Face), LLM APIs, embedding models, prompting techniques (Chain of Thought, ReACT, etc.), and vector databases (FAISS and Milvus). 
  • Experience interacting with REST APIs and microservices and familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) for scalable and efficient model deployment. 
  • Strong understanding of machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing concepts, and speech recognition concepts. 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with globally distributed teams. 
  • Practical knowledge of Agile project management and software development methodologies such as Scrum and SAFe.

US: Hiring Range: from $74,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
