Overview

This is an opportunity to work within a small and growing group for a top 20 U.S. Bank with significant advancement opportunities both within the department and other functional areas of First Citizen’s Commercial Bank.

The VP, Sr Underwriter Portfolio Manager Sponsor Finance will work within a team construct to assist in the credit underwriting and portfolio management of diverse debt solutions for middle-market companies. Specifically LBO Financing, Acquisition Financing, Debt Refinancing, and Recapitalizations, working with potential borrowers, private equity teams, and other Lenders. This position is primarily a portfolio management role but opportunities may arise to work on new underwriting prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary contact to Borrower’s CFOs and Controllers and manage bank group syndicates when First Citizens serves as Administrative Agent.
  • Monitor individual accounts for performance and covenant compliance trend
  • Underwrite add-on financing requests or waivers and amendments
  • Ensure accurate and timely portfolio risk ratings
  • Train and mentor junior resources
  • Maintain credit files in preparation for internal or external audits
  • Work with Borrowers and Relationship Managers to maximize FCB’s product suite offering
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Firm understanding of systems and resources

The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $150,000 to $175,000 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Credit Analysis, Underwriting or Risk Management OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Credit Analysis, Underwriting or Risk Management
  • Preferred
  • Education: Bachelors Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting
  • Experience with Cash Flow, Sponsor Finance Transactions
  • Negotating documentation and/or credit agreements
  • Finance, Banking, Commercial Lending or investing environment;Demonstrated deal structuring, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong understanding of legal documentation
  • Strong expertise with financial modeling and credit analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks with changing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and problem solve to then take initiative to drive processes forward
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Attention to detail; and Ability to function independently and as part of a small team.Skill(s): Co impletion of a formal credit training program preferred
