SUMMARY:

This Communications & Event Specialist is responsible for executing an internal communications strategy that helps keep employees informed and connected to the organization’s mission. The person is a strategic thinker who excels at collaborating with colleagues and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality work even in a fast-paced , high-pressure environment. The person is exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing cross-functional projects and work streams, with an aptitude for prioritization. Strong writing and editing skills are essential – specifically the ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to diverse audiences in a clear and concise manner. Experience in executing strategic communication plans, managing internal and external events, and moderating internal communities is preferred.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Executes internal communication plans and programs for Motion, with a focus on the organization’s strategic priorities and business goals.
  • Identifies potential PR opportunities to increase awareness of Motion.
  • Maintains expertise in company key messages and priorities; ensuring they are reflected in all communications.
  • Develops a cohesive message/tone for the organization ensuring content seen across multiple communication platforms is clear, concise, correct, engaging and actionable.
  • Collaborates with creative and project management teams to ensure cohesive and strategic vision is achieved.
  • Sources and evaluates communication software and platforms to ensure appropriate alignment for communication goals and output.
  • Under broad supervision, coordinates planning, set-up and management of medium to large scale organization-sponsored events such as meetings or conferences. Conducts on site inspections to ensure event requirements are met. Responsible for the availability of audiovisual equipment, transportation and other event needs.
  • The position may research potential event sites, cost benchmarks, and own other key components of event project plans, including preparing of content materials, coordinating on-site logistics and set-up, list keeping, and reporting on event results. The position may identify and assist in selection of internal and external subject matter experts for events and leverage meeting planning best practices to ensure that events are run effectively.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Leads trade publication paid-content program (including webinars and special reports).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires a bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Proven ability to write copy addressing high-level audiences, as well as technical prospects with more product-specific information
  • Organized with strong time management and project management skills
  • Agile, self-starter, critical thinker, and problem-solver who thrives in a rapidly chaining high growth environment
  • Comfort in completing multiple tasks with accuracy, shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines
  • Willingness to innovate
  • Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally with other teams
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a clear, transparent and concise manner across all levels of the organization
