Manager Strategic Planning and Business Development manages and supports strategic planning and business development projects. Relationship management is pivotal, collaborating and communicating across multiple internal and external stakeholders, as well as health system leadership, to ensure successful partnership and affiliation with VCU Health System.

This individual provides quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting on trends, patterns, and insights to ensure VCU Health System evidence-based decisions align with its vision, goals, and business strategy. At the same time, collects, aggregates, and analyzes data from multiple internal and external sources in support of projects. Works collaboratively with service line leadership and entity leadership on key business development opportunities.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: N/A Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: N/A Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of five (5) years of business development experience Minimum two (2) years of management experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, informatics or related experience in healthcare Experience in business development process Exposure to latest application development and/or infrastructure support technologies Experience PREFERRED Five (5) years of Business development experience in healthcare Two (2) years of leadership experience Experience leading teams that include internal and external stakeholders Academic Healthcare experience a plus Program/Project Management experience Education/training REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Statistics or other related field from an accredited program Education/training PREFERRED: Master’s Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or other related field from an accredited program Project management certification Independent action(s) required: Exhibits a high tolerance for rapid change and manages change effectively. Ability to lead, facilitate and support cross-functional team projects across the entire organization. Ability to plan and organize work in order to achieve and support business goals and strategy. Ability to manage shifting business priorities, demands and timelines. Ability to understand clinical and operational needs from a technical and financial perspective. Ability to deliver clear written reports, presentations, and to graphically present complex data to key stakeholders. Ability to learn and manage new software/tools necessary to support continued innovation in analytics and healthcare strategy. Strong creative, analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills to analyze data, report, identify trends, and develop sound recommendations. Strong interpersonal skills to assist, support and collaborate with a variety of work teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to gain proficiency in new analytical tools and software.
