Environmental Resources Management

Do you want to help make the world a better place and support companies in their transition to becoming more sustainable? ERM is looking for a Senior or Principal Consultant to join our Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change Team (CS&CC) in The Netherlands. As our new colleague, you will work on challenging projects across the full range of our corporate sustainability-related services, while making sure that we deliver high quality solutions to our clients. We have a diverse client base which includes corporates across most sectors, as well as financial and government institutions.

Role responsibilities 

We are looking for someone who can take on a double role, combining both project work as a Senior or Principal Consultant and as line manager of our team. That means you will work actively on client projects, while being responsible for providing guidance to the team’s consultants.

As a Principal Consultant, you will play an active role in project management, client relationship management and business development activities. You will be responsible for managing and delivering larger projects along the corporate sustainability ‘management cycle’ – focused on strategy, impact measurement and reporting. In your projects, you will manage a project team and provide guidance to junior colleagues, ensuring a realistic planning, good communication with the client and team, and pursuing and monitoring the quality of service. Together with the client you will think on a strategic level in order to understand their needs and offer them pragmatic and realistic solutions.

Who are you?

You are an ambitious people and project manager with an interest in corporate sustainability. You want to make a positive impact on the world by working on large client projects and managing our sustainability consultants. You are proactive and know how to engage people.

Other important qualities of yours are:

• You demonstrate advisory skills such as analytical thinking, flexibility, proactivity, and good communication skills
• Extended experience in consulting and/or in corporate sustainability (e.g. at an accountancy firm or in a CSR team). Ideally you have a minimum of five years of experience, but we are flexible to discuss – we find your ability to learn, enthusiasm, entrepreneurship, and affinity with our company most important!
• You have experience with managing mid-large sized projects and know how to accurately manage and deliver multiple tasks based on their different deadlines and requirements
• You demonstrate good people management skills, with a focus on wellbeing
• You are fluent in Dutch & English;
• Ideally, you have knowledge of sustainability concepts such as the EU Taxonomy, Corporate Sustainability reporting (EU CSRD, TCFD, SASB, GRI), carbon management (GHG Protocol, SBTi), etc.
