Position Description:
In this position, the successful candidate will work as part of the PPG Automotive Refinish global IT team and will be primarily located at PPG’s global business services office in Wrocław, Poland. PPG Automotive Refinish is an industry leader providing durable, high performing, and appearance enhancing automotive, commercial fleet and light industrial coatings to customers worldwide. The IT Business Analyst will play an important role performing business analysis and managing projects to enable the delivery of software solutions to the PPG Automotive Refinish business. This position offers a unique career opportunity to partner with business teams in order to clarify and communicate business requirements, identify opportunities for process improvements, and utilize PPG’s project methodology to guide initiatives to completion; on time and on budget.
Business:
The IT Business Analyst will assist in providing support to the Automotive Refinish business unit, leveraging prior experience in IT or within the business. They conduct and analyze business and information technology processes and prepare groundwork which allows the identification of potential solutions, evolution of possible business process and application changes. The incumbent is responsible for networking with others to understand how IT solutions are deployed in other areas to solve business problems. IT Business Analysts act as a liaison between IT and the business, and solicit requirements through interviews, workshops, process mapping, and/or existing systems documentation or procedures. They also assist with defining the functionality, cost, benefits and implementation requirements of information system technologies. In implementations, they will play a lead role in conference room pilots, user acceptance testing, and documenting and tracking issues through resolution.
Technical:
The IT Business Analyst participates in the definition, testing, training, implementation, and support of business solutions. They identify customer requirements, develop test scripts, conduct testing, and track and document the results. They alert and advise project managers of potential risks and issues of importance. They uncover client requirements via industry standard analysis techniques such as data flow modeling, process mapping, and workflow analysis. The IT Business Analyst can develop or maintain alternative technical solutions using various tools. They consult with other technical analysts to comply with PPG and industry standards and they document the results of analysis activities using the appropriate templates or analysis tools. They are responsible for ensuring that solutions delivered to customers adhere to PPG’s methodology and architectural standards including delivery of system and user documentation. The IT Business Analyst needs to demonstrate an understanding of technology’s role in process improvement and possess analytical and conceptual skills.
Interpersonal:
The IT Business Analyst needs to develop an understanding of the business area they serve. They need to demonstrate strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills and be able to establish effective working relationships with IT personnel and the customer base. The IT Business Analyst should develop and maintain relationships with colleagues to increase knowledge of software and systems. The ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to the business is required. Negotiation, influencing, and bringing others to consensus are key attributes of the successful IT
Business Analyst. The successful candidate is highly motivated and will possess strong analytical abilities, good interpersonal and communication skills, and should thrive working in both a team environment and independently.
