As the Senior International Material Planner, you will be a member of our Central Materials team. The position will require planning, system, and estimation competencies in Oracle/SAP, Microsoft Suite, and BI tools. This team member performs as a Subject Matter Expert and develops lower-level Planners in Oracle and in Business Instruction documentation. In addition, you will monitor and track hot shipments, optimize inventory, demonstrate proficient documentation of processes, and provide coaching to Material Planners for best practice sharing and implement process improvements. The Planner will be a strategic and forward thinking leader on the team, and will have high communication and collaboration with cross functional teams (internal and external) to complete the material part life cycle.

How You'll Create Possibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Support:

  • Validate inter-warehouse transfers are properly booked in MRP to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Review both Plant production schedules and Oracle materials requirement planning system to determine raw material needs over 8-to-12-week timeframe
  • Interfaces with operating and support groups (Purchasing, Contracts, Finance, QA, Manufacturing) to collect data for preparation of schedules and reports providing status reports to internal and external contacts
  • Assure that the Operations have the necessary materials, to meet required manufacturing / production levels
  • Monitor supply and demand misalignment using Oracle and collaborate with Master Scheduler
  • Monitor actual production against schedule
  • Work with selected suppliers to ensure project schedules are met and within the defined budget while meeting all success factors
  • Continually research new technology solutions to improve the supply chain

Part Management:

  • Coordinate and execute scheduling activities for assigned part numbers using Oracle
  • Monitor inventory levels, accuracy, segregation, rotation
  • Plans all purchased parts within area of responsibility
  • Enter all supplier returns in the system
  • Drive inventory improvement efforts for raw materials, finished goods and component inventories which meet both customer service needs meeting goal objectives
  • Set stock Boundaries for all Raw and pack materials

Planning System Management:

  • Work with manufacturing and warehouse operations and Lean teams to understand the Value Stream and how your projects impact this. Ensure material flow, workstation setup, model mix, etc. are considered when workstations / equipment is designed.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with Material Management leadership at all facilities supported.
  • Work cross functionally to eliminate waste in the supply chain including the integration of material automation with manufacturing processes.
  • Deliver guidance, and training for cross-functional team members about material flow. Provide documentation and training to maintenance and shop floor personnel.
  • Utilize technical and project experience to add to the APS (Appliance Production System) and CM teams’ body of knowledge to drive continuous improvement throughout the organization and company.

SOP Documentation and Oracle Training

  • Perform as a Subject Matter Expert and develop lower-level Planners in Oracle and in Business Instruction documentation.
  • Oversee PCN process as it pertains to Materials functions.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Position Requirement

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and warehouse operations.
  • Excellent project tracking and detailed planning skills required
  • Ability to work in large cross-functional teams and at multiple levels in the organization (both salaried and shop floor operators / skilled trades team members)
  • Good oral and written communication skills – will be expected to provide status report outs to cross-functional team and train other engineers
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of cross-functional program deliverables and ability to drive decisions based on the overall benefit to the company
  • Computer literate and skilled in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Auto Cad, and Outlook

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years hands on experience with distribution, logistics or supply chain including experience in Lean Supply Chain production method.
  • Strong computer knowledge including, Python, Robotic Languages, ACAD and MS Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering: Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management preferred
  • Very creative talent with a proven ability to look past what is currently done and develop a practical, implementable vision for future with a strong history of executing to vision.
  • Prior experience working in a high SKU and high velocity manufacturing operations.
  • Simulation experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions are normal for a high-volume distribution environment.
  • Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds and working in and around heavy equipment.
  • Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats.
  • These roles will require frequent walking in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • 30-40% travel may be for domestic and/or international travel to supplier sites/ plants, etc.
  • Hours & Weekends: Working off-shift and weekends will be required.
