DATA QUALITY SPECIALIST

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Data Quality Specialist is responsible for the development of the Data Quality strategy, framework, operating model and the ongoing operations of the function and related activities across the Banking and Investment Services organization. Responsibilities are multi-faceted and will include such objectives as establishing data accuracy steps by enrolling various stakeholders, data owners, data stewards and data custodians. Manages remediation of issues, performs data profiling and generates data quality scorecard. Builds a strong data profiling and data quality management function to closely manage quality of critical data elements.

Banking and Investment Services Division

Banking and Investment Services plays an integral role in leading the strategic vision and execution of all banking operations. Our servicing and operations professionals partner closely with all our lines of business to conduct critical functions, including client/deposit servicing, contact center operations, payments processing, and trade and lending operations, while identifying and mitigating risk throughout the organization. Servicing and operations professionals seek to transform and define an integrated support model through automation and cutting-edge digital technologies, to deliver an excellent experience for our clients and businesses.

What you will do

  • Define a multi-year Data Quality Roadmap to mature data quality capability
  • Define Quality metrics and indicators then ensure ongoing compliance with quality targets
  • Promote a culture of data quality and reliability with LOBs and IT
  • Perform data profiling, lead root cause analyses and report parsing to monitor data quality levels
  • Actively manage and document key data issues and root cause
  • Manage data quality documentation and communication of findings
  • Lead the Data Remediation Forum to drive timely communication and remediation of key issues
  • Interact closely with data owners and the BI/Reporting teams to define Data Quality Procedure for critical reports and data sets
  • Produce data quality scorecard on a recurring basis for B&IS
  • Promote a culture of high data quality to increase information accuracy and integrity
  • Partner with IT to automate data profiling, parsing, quality validation checks, and scorecards
  • Collaborate with Data Governance lead to enrich data lineage and business glossary

Must-Have*

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools (Sharepoint, SAP, Business Objects, Tableau, Crystal reports/Dashboard, etc)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in banking/operations

Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience with writing database queries (i.e. SQL, MySQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL)
  • Experience designing and generating scheduled and ad hoc reports using reporting/query tools (i.e. Brio, SQL Developer, Business Objects, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, presentations skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to provide direction on visualization aspects of DQ reporting using Qlik, PowerBI, or Tableau technologies
  • Knowledge of requirements gathering, design methodology and building test cases - detail oriented, analytical and capable of investigating complex / technical issues
  • Strongly familiar with key data concepts such as Data Quality Management, Data Profiling, Data Aggregation, Metadata Management, Data Standards, Data Dictionary, and Data Domains (Clients, Payments, etc.)
  • Able to troubleshoot data related issues and support modifications and maintenance
  • Excellent communication / presentation skills (both oral and written)
  • Excellent team player by working with cross-departmental business & IT stakeholders
  • Highly motivated and committed, capable of working in a dynamic environment with aggressive timelines, multiple work streams running in parallel
  • Strong project management experience, able to drive initiatives from planning through execution
  • Experience with eliciting requirements and design - detail oriented, analytical and capable of investigating complex / business issues

Compensation

Starting base salary: $101,231 - $172,355 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
