Role: Associate Content Researcher

Team – MID Operations Content research team

About the role:

Morningstar is seeking a self-motivated Associate Content Researcher for Managed Investment Data (MID) team. In this role, you will work with content design team, tech team and global MID collection team to develop and implement enhancements to various data and analysis of data, implementation of AI/ML models to automate data collection etc. You will be a key contributor to design new data content process flow and user interface, build creative tool and provide constructive consultant for data process enhancement. This position is based in our Navi Mumbai (Vashi) office, 2 mins walk from the Vashi railway station.

For Morningstar internal candidates: The Associate Content Researcher position is equivalent to Associate Team Leader and the eligible candidates should be SDRA or ATL.

For external candidates: Associate Content Researcher role is akin to a business analyst role which requires a mix of capital markets domain knowledge and tech expertise, particularly analysis using SQL.

Job responsibilities:

• Use data mining to surface data issue and support data strategy decision-making.
• Design new content process flow and user interface, build back-end logic to ensure data accuracy.
• Provide solution and consultation for data processing improvement from overall data perspective.
• Provide proper proposal for data quality control backend logic to drive data accuracy improvement.
• Translate system improvement requirement of cross team into usable technology language through detailed written specifications.
• Maintain database backend knowledge and build readable documentation.

Qualifications:

• At least 2.5 years professional experience working in investment data industry with wide and deep database knowledge.
• A bachelor’s/master’s degree
• Be familiar with at least one of SQL, PowerBI, Tableau
• Basic understanding of AI/ML is an advantage
• Strong quantitative, business analysis and problem-solving skills
• Excellent English verbal/presentation/written communication skills
• Basic understanding of Mutual Funds industry
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized
• Any graduate with good tech (SQL) and capital markets knowledge
• CFA certifications are preferred

Nice to have: CFA L1/L2/L3
