Zoox is developing fully autonomous vehicles and the supporting ecosystem required to bring the technology to market at scale. Sitting at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and design, Zoox aims to provide the next generation of mobility-as-a-service in urban environments. We believe the transition to self-driving vehicles requires a combination of elegant vision and uncompromising execution.
Our hardware team is in charge of designing the custom hardware that goes into Zoox’s future fleet of self- driving robots. Everything from the low-level systems to the sensors both in and outside the robot are created in-house by our team of scrappy mechanical and electrical engineers. We need someone who can assist our team to keep all the circuit boards and assembly projects in order.
We are looking for an awesome project manager that’s ready to dive in and help us push our hardware designs through quickly and deliver on time. We’re looking for someone who wants to join a fast-paced startup and help define and coordinate schedules of cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for not only guiding a design through the development cycle, but also will need to take on defining concrete requirements to complex problems as well as plan out next steps to address project objectives. The candidate will be in charge of assisting in project definitions, allocating resources, delegating hardware tasks to team members, forecasting requirements and lining up schedules. The ideal candidate will also need to good at establishing and maintaining healthy relationships with vendors while also negotiating agreements and settling disputes.
As with any startup, we move fast here at Zoox and many candidates will be asked from time to time to wear many hats. We would love to hear from you if you are game for adapting to the challenges, taking on new roles as needed, and hit deadlines. If you’re not shy about herding the cats and managing the chaos, then this role was made for you!
