Senior Consultant - Risk Consulting

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Consultant to join our Advisory team at Marsh and grow the Risk practice in Victoria by leading strategic risk engagements with a diverse range of clients.

This role will involve collaborating with clients to assist them in identifying, analysing, quantifying and effectively transferring risk in line with our model and standard of service delivery. You will understand the big picture and be able to clearly articulate strategies with rationale through logical written and verbal communications. This position is suited for a seasoned professional in Risk Consulting who works independently with minimal supervision.

We will count on you to:

  • Conduct Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) advisory engagements focussed on building risk maturity in our client’s organisations
  • Translate global risk management standards into practical and long-lasting risk road maps for clients
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, understanding their unique needs, and providing insights to address their risk challenges effectively
  • Project manage the execution of risk advisory projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met, while maintaining the highest quality standards
  • Develop relevant recommendations and solutions to enhance the management of risk in a range of formats including reports, presentations and webinars
  • Lead and mentor a team of risk professionals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment, and providing guidance to help them achieve their full potential
  • Advise clients on implementing risk mitigation strategies and internal controls to enhance their overall risk management capabilities
  • Lead small to large projects and be a valuable resource on complex projects involving subject matter experts from across Marsh McLennan
  • Stay abreast of industry regulations, standards, and best practices, and assist clients in complying with relevant laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with senior management to identify new business opportunities, contribute to proposals, and engage in business development activities to expand the firm's risk advisory practice
  • Stay updated with emerging risk trends and developments in the industry, actively contributing to thought leadership initiatives and knowledge sharing within the firm
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of risk advisory service delivery

What we would like you to have: 

  • 5+ Years’ experience working in risk advisory and/or internal audit within a consulting firm
  • Degree in Business/Commerce/Management
  • Professional certification such as CA/CPA/CFE desirable
  • Proficient in risk management concepts and processes (ISO 31000, COSO)
  • Experience in leading team members and/or large client projects
