Senior Business Analyst- Audit Writer-Bilingual

Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of theories and principles and applies general knowledge of business and industry practices within business analysis. Working independently under minimal guidance, carries out a full range of professional duties and solves moderately complex problems. Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Prepares operations analyses including analysis of competitors, operational effectiveness, and capacity utilization and makes recommendations for improvement. Develops process analyses, end to end process mappings and identifies opportunities for improvement. May track, maintain and provide current information on business operations. May analyze or provide support on administrative financial support activities of a business division. Work may include preparing financial reports, budgets, and annual and long-term business plans. Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Leads team projects or project steps within a broader project or has accountability for ongoing activities or objectives. Uses advanced analytical, technical and problem-solving skills to adapt policies and programs and develop models to support small projects or the team.

Job Description

The Business Analyst is a member of the Content Editorial team and leads the development and enhancement of business rules for integrating Canadian Audit Standards into a dynamic software solution. This role works closely with content experts, product management, external authors, and development teams within and external to WK in the integrating of content and software. The role will also be involved in the creation of Canadian audit content, conducting in-depth research and author interpretive guidance on Canadian accounting and audit issues. Primary content responsibilities will include selecting new and significant accounting and auditing issues for reporting, as well as analyzing and summarizing the standards and proposals of the Canadian standard setting bodies.

The role requires fluency in both French and English.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create business rules to enable dynamic methodology checklists and forms.
  • Ensure application is developed to meet compliance requirements and improve customer efficiency.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to both internal development teams and customers on methodology related questions.
  • Monitor and track customer feedback in order to incorporate that feedback into content development.
  • Collaborate with editorial, product and technology teams to create an annual schedule for new developments/enhancements.
  • Monitor, analyze and generate content about accounting and audit issues.
  • Develop written analytic content (e.g. summaries, explanations, interpretations, news articles, white papers) for the product line and market segment.
  • Select new and significant developments for reporting.
  • Write news stories on accounting, auditing and regulatory developments.
  • Review work product of self and others to ensure quality meets product and performance expectations.
  • Work with and observe external industry experts to determine areas of product improvement.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to gather intelligence on product offers of other companies.
  • Provide internal and external customers with status reports and updates on an on-going basis.
  • Perform other customer unit functions as specified by the manager.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
  • 3 or more years of experience in the area of Canadian accounting & audit, with an emphasis on audit.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian audit methodologies across various industries required.
  • Fluent in both French and English is highly desirable
  • Ability to work with others across functional teams in Canada and US
  • Strong organization and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to adhere to and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work an extended schedule as required to meet objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
