What's the job?

The Marketplace Project Manager, will design, plan, and execute key initiatives and activities, to support and enable banners to successfully run and establish their marketplace operations. In collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout our banners in the UK, France, Iberia, and Poland, the Project Manager will define and build solutions suited for each market. The role offers the unique opportunity to lead growth initiatives and projects to build our marketplace operations, as well as develop a deep understanding of the marketplace.

Activities include; -

  • A deep understanding of the marketplace dynamics and competitive landscape to identify opportunities to improve and grow the business.
  • Develop projects and initiatives, coordinate cross-functional teams across the international organization (including the marketplace team, digital, legal, finances) and communicate with internal and external parties, while meeting tight deadlines for high visibility projects.
  • Lead all the coordination activities between commercial, product, engineering, operations and corporate teams in order to synchronize all the key steps needed to launch a successful marketplace model with all the implications and steps of maturation.
  • Coordinate all the discussions, brainstomings and debates between multiple teams at group and banner level to take the right aligned decisions, presenting the information clearly, for top management to understand and be highly engaged to enable decision-making processes.
  • Define Project governance and follow for key progress updates and identify blockers and dependencies.

What you'll bring

  • A clear entrepreneurial mindset, creating a new business model within a large €17bn GMV organization.
  • Proven experience in developing original ideas, approaches, and solutions to typical, unusual, or difficult situations in a competitive and ever-changing business climate.
  • Personal initiative and strong hands-on attitude along with creativeness, decisiveness, and results-driven mentality for a business-focused way of thinking.
  • Experience on managing and leading international digital projects within ecommerce, retail marketplace industries.

We’re adopting a hybrid approach with some office and some home working, on average 40-60% in the office. Your office location? This person will be UK based with our Head Office in Paddington, or we could explore the option of being based in one of our other retail banners head offices in Southampton or Yeovil.
