About the role

2-year fixed-term contract based in our brand new Barangaroo offices.

GrainCorp is experiencing an exciting period of system and analytics transformation, and our Data Governance Manager will oversee the maintenance and integrity of our governance framework.

Reporting to the Group Risk & Assurance Manager, you will partner with the business and IT teams to align with data activities and projects. The role will be required to provide subject matter expertise with regards to data management and data quality and raise awareness of data governance across the organisation.

Specifically, you mandate will be to:

  • Be accountable for the project management of our data governance, including some strategic work
  • Support the development of data governance roles across the organisation
  • Establish a data governance forum to coordinate activity and meetings across the organisation
  • Establish data governance policies, standards and guidelines
  • Develop and deliver data governance education and awareness
  • Act as a conduit between technical and business teams.

This position will partner with key business, analytics, and technology stakeholders to identify business challenges, contribute to the development of advanced analytics internal capability, and develop solutions to enable business teams to perform at the highest levels.

About your experience

Our ideal candidate has proven experience in project managing enterprise-wide data governance frameworks within a complex, (ideally multi-jurisdictional) environment.

Additional attributes:

  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles and standards within multinational environments
  • At least 10 years' experience in project management, governance and compliance
  • Proven business transformation and SAP exposure
  • Direct experience with defining and operationalising policies, standards, guidelines, and workflows
  • Ability to work autonomously and maintain effective communication across different business areas with varying levels of awareness and knowledge to ensure strategic and business requirements are met
  • Ability to distil complex concepts to easy-to-understand frameworks and presentations
  • Strong business acumen, ability to think strategically and build effective partnerships
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiences.
