Summary

The Vice President, IT Infrastructure & Security is responsible for leading the architecture, delivery and operations of the technology infrastructure and cybersecurity across Carhartt.

Infrastructure responsibilities include ensuring that the IT infrastructure and end user support services are highly responsive, resilient and devices are readily available to the needs of users across the company.

Security responsibilities include establishing and maintaining a corporate-wide information security management program to ensure that information assets are adequately protected. This position is responsible for identifying, evaluating and reporting on information security risks in a manner that meets compliance and regulatory requirements, and aligns with and supports the risk posture of the enterprise. The position requires a visionary leader with sound knowledge of business management and a working knowledge of information security technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a strategic plan for infrastructure and cybersecurity, which will ensure that the foundation for all systems is positioned to grow, able to seize new opportunities and maintain superior experience to internal and external customers-with a foundation of performance and reliability
  • Provide vision, leadership and strategic oversight of enterprise information security and IT risk policies, principles, procedures and practices – ensures cross functional collaboration between business partners supporting overall enterprise governance, risk and compliance
  • Support the overall vision necessary to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective services, and collaborates with other IT disciplines to ensure necessary changes to IT environment are instituted at an appropriate level of quality, cost and architectural consistency-with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement
  • Proactively interact with senior leaders to understand the business objectives and strategies - provide the vision, leadership and recommendations to enable their objectives and strategies
  • Ensure technology investments are delivering expected value and outcomes
  • Build highly effective and engaged teams: coach, mentor and develop the Infrastructure and Cybersecurity team, including managers and associates
  • Develop and manage the department budget as well as reporting on qualitative and quantitative results
  • Support for the evaluation, selection and implementation of major systems, as well as the conversions from existing systems 
  • Ensure IT and business leadership are correctly advised of issues, statuses, change requests, key decisions, schedules, release requirements, and metrics
  • Define and oversee a business recovery plan for all relevant Carhartt IT components
  • Lead the management of the server and storage infrastructure, laptops/PCs, mobile infrastructure including mobile phones and tablets, wide/local area networks and telecommunications systems throughout Carhartt 
  • Establish annual and long-range security and compliance goals, define security strategies, metrics, reporting mechanisms and program services and create maturity models and an information security road-map for continual program improvements
  • Identify opportunities to optimize existing cloud resources and explore innovative technologies to enhance our cloud capabilities
  • Implement automation and monitoring tools to optimize cloud and cybersecurity resource utilization and performance
  • Oversee evaluation and management of service providers

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required in Computer Science or Information Science
  • Master's Degree Preferred

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in a broad range of IT areas inclusive of:
  • 5+ years of progressive information/cyber security experience - including expertise in all aspects of security disciplines: information security, cyber-risk and vulnerability assessments, threat analysis, threat modeling, security intelligence 
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience with a track record of developing and attracting talent.
  • Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, ITIL, COBIT and ones from NIST 
  • Experience with cloud compute engineering, deployment and run – including cost management and capability acceleration 
  • Strong IT technical background with understanding of software, hardware, networks and the internet 
  • Experience in change management with a demonstrated ability to leverage relationships to influence. 
  • Business savvy and effective strategic planning and analytical skills 
  • Robust and persuasive, with highly developed interpersonal and management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels 
  • Demonstrated ability to understand key business issues and apply critical thinking to recommend solutions
  • Outstanding organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and attention to detail
  • Excellent negotiation skills
