Provide strategic business focused support as well as planning and administration to the Executive Vice President of Service, Operations & Trading in addition to leading other business, employee and cross organizational change initiatives. Responsible for the management of people strategies across Service, Operations & Trading, including employee engagement programs. Create and drive the strategy for Service and Operations field engagement initiatives to support multiple field platforms and mediums. Lead the Leadership Development and Internship Programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Definition and structuring of strategic, complex cross organizational and cross entity change initiatives: Upon identification of business issue or opportunity, lead a group of stakeholders through process to define the problem/opportunity, design solution options and their respective implications (time, cost, risk, etc.), and create action plan to address.
  • Position requires critical relationship building, influencing stakeholders/team members.
  • Business Management: Accountable for general business management activities including annual business unit planning, coordinating budget/expense management & business transformation activities.
  • Monitor progress of operational, financial and strategic objectives. 
  • Operations Management: Align with business leaders to establish and report on organizational goal metrics.
  • Ensure adequate reporting of business results is maintained.
  • Support key business decisions with perspective on future financial, experience, employee and risk implications. 
  • Ensure appropriate reporting construct to drive decisioning and timely problem resolution. 
  • Prepare presentations and communications for the direct leader, which may include presentations to the company's Board of Directors, CEO/executive leadership team, analyst groups, and regulatory agencies; ensure preparation and pre-work readiness for meetings and facilitate productive and decisive meetings/conversations.
  • Drive employee engagement and communications strategy.
  • Provide leadership to direct reports, contractors, support partners and cross-functional project participants that includes work direction, coaching and feedback, employee development and performance management. Ensure that team is meeting project timelines and commitments. Provide day to-day-leadership of teams in place for strategic and complex change initiatives.
  • Drive Service, Operations & Trading field engagement initiatives, including creating and executing the strategy to support multiple field platforms and mediums.
  • Program owner for Service, Operations & Trading Leadership Development and Intern Programs.
  • Management of the recruiting and placement of talent across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • At least 10+ years financial, communications, operational, and/or project/program management experience.
  • Demonstrated strategic planning and significant project management skills, including cross functional projects with complex ambiguity.
  • Strong, demonstrated thought leadership with the ability to execute on deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience with operations and finance with ability to navigate Ameriprise.
  • Ability to identify and resolve/mitigate issues or risks associated with projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale project initiatives to successful completion and implementation.
  • Strong relationship building skills; highly effective communication skills that include ability to gain acceptance of others to a point of view.
  • Prior management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity with organizational savviness.
  • Executive presence in written, verbal and non-verbal interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with field on communication or change management initiatives.
  • Experience with advisory, operations, trading and service.
  • PMP certification.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
  • Active Series 7 or Series 24 license.
