We are seeking a Part Time Volunteer Coordinator to be based in our West Orange, NJ office, but will also conduct some visits. This position is responsible for assisting in implementing and coordinating an exemplary volunteer program through the use of community and individual volunteers in adherence with Medicare and CHAP regulations.

Experience working in hospice is strongly preferred. *Please note: our hospice volunteer department utilizes therapy dogs that make visits to client homes as well as the office on occassion*

Responsibilities

  • Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
  • Assists in maintaining hospice volunteer program in compliance with Medicare regulations
  • Collaborates with program managers and provides liaison between staff and volunteers
  • Facilitates community outreach to support all VNAHG programs with volunteer services
  • Assists to ensure the Hospice Volunteer program is in compliance with accreditation standards
  • Provides supervision and oversight of volunteers
  • Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance

Qualifications

  • Associate degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in volunteer activity in a healthcare setting preferred. Experience in hospice environment required.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of community resources and strong team building skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel and a valid driver’s license required
