Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking a CADD Designer to join our Survey group! We are looking for designers just starting their career as well as seasoned CADD Technicians/Designers. Our transportation projects in New England cover roadways, highways, intersections, railways, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and more. Clients include public and private such as the MaineDOT and counties and cities across New England, Design Build teams, and others.

Surveyors leverage cutting edge technology to collect data on transportation infrastructure, including Mobile Mapping Systems, Drones, Laser Scanners, and conventional survey equipment. These data sets typically consist of point clouds that are combined and utilized to extract survey-grade mapping deliverables to various clients and agencies. Our team is looking for an individual to support our Open Roads Designer program, utilizing TopoDOT and other software platforms to provide mapping to transportation designers.

  • Development of 3D surface modeling for roads and highways using point clouds from multiple sources.
  • Apply and integrate various client CAD standards into CAD templates.
  • Assist in the education, development, and mentoring of staff and act as a resource for CAD design questions.
  • Perform QA/QC on work products from other CADD design and surveying staff.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of CADD highway/roadway drafting experience minimum.
  • Proficient in MicroStation.
  • Previous TopoDOT, InRoads, or Open Roads Designer experience.
  • Willing to work independently and with others as a team.
  • Interested in developing, coaching and mentoring junior staff members.
  • Civil 3D experience is a plus.
  • Previous DOT and/or Locally Administered Federal Aid Project experience is a plus.
