Position Description

The Compliance team at HPS are looking for an experienced Associate to join the Luxembourg office. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful organization at an exciting time of growth. The position requires knowledge and experience in compliance, as well as familiarity with regulatory best practices.

Responsibilities 

Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Work with different different information stakeholders of the AIFM, the Group and service suppliers to obtain data necessary for the performance of Compliance related tasks;
  • Monitoring and review of AML/CFT working papers and quarterly reports;
  • Regular tracking, monitoring and review of internal and external regulatory ad-hoc requested compliance documentation/reports;
  • Review and monitoring of reports to be filed with the CSSF or AED in relation to AML/CFT or any other supervisory report in the scope of the Compliance function’s remit;
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory environment, specifically in respect of the Luxembourg and EU frameworks
  • Tracking up-coming new regulations and assisting in their analysis and implementation into new policies and procedures;
  • Assistance in the review and enhancement of existing policies and procedures;
  • Maintenance of the Compliance support tool (CAROL);
  • Ensuring Internal Compliance reporting to comply with Audit and CSSF requirements;
  • Assistance in the set-up of new AIFs and other corporate structures as needed;
  • Assistance in the preparation and delivery of Compliance training, including annual training on ÁML/CFT of the AIFM staff and AIFs board of managers;
  • Assistance in the review of issues escalated by the Administrator or the Depositary and other matters requiring formal Compliance review;
  • Participation on potential upcoming compliance projects;
  • Promote the highest ethical standards required of staff and ensure staff meet HPS’s compliance requirements and the relevant regulatory rules in Luxembourg;
  • Implement and enforce HPS & Group Compliance strategy in Luxembourg as communicated by the Group Compliance on an ongoing basis;
  • Conducting monitoring reviews, as required, to ensure compliance with CSSF regulatory and Group Compliance requirements;
  • Identifying potential concerns and control issues, determine the root cause of such issues and ensure stakeholders develop and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • The ability to form and develop relationships at all levels of the business, together with a strong and resilient personality, with the ability to successfully represent themselves and the Compliance function
  • Experience in a Management Company within the Alternative Investment Field (Debt/Private Equity)
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • A good knowledge of EU and Luxembourg regulations with a strong practical knowledge of investment funds and particularly AIFMD and alternative funds and structures
  • Detail-orientated - possession of a high level of attention to detail and qualify for their work product
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a core team member
  • Ability to prioritise workflow and fulfil objectives with minimum supervision
  • Written and oral fluency in English required; other languages, particularly French and German an advantage
