Overview

The Legal Documentation Centre of Competence and Legal Documentation Strategy (LDCC) within Deutsche Bank´s Corporate Bank is looking for an Americas Legal Expert. We are a team of legal experts/lawyers responsible for the global Cash Management legal documentation and seeking to extend our team with a legal position in New York. You will advise on legal matters concerning Cash Management global products such as account opening, electronic banking and liquidity management solutions to corporates and financial institutions in Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific Region, and AMERICAS. You will support and work together with Implementation & Service, Product Managers, Group Legal and Deutsche Bank clients globally. This includes development and improvement of Cash Management legal framework (electronic banking, accounts, liquidity management products), contract negotiations with Deutsche Bank Clients, legal queries from internal stakeholders, legal due diligence support for various products and initiatives (Electronic Signature, Fraud Detection, Self-Administration tools) and focusing on efficient and digital End-to-End handling and usage of legal technology to ensure smooth documentation processes across Deutsche Bank locations, globally.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide legal support to various Cash Management teams by coordinating and managing multi-jurisdictional projects in the AMERICAS region (with a primary focus on United States documents governed by NY Law)
  • Draft and negotiate documentation for services provided by the Deutsche Bank Group, globally, to our corporate clients from jurisdictions across the globe
  • Update templates to reflect ongoing changes in laws and product offerings
  • Work closely with Deutsche Bank Group Legal in the AMERICAS region
  • Work in collaboration with other internal control functions such as Anti-Financial Crime, Compliance and Credit Risk Management

Skills You’ll Need

  • A Juris Doctorate from a reputable law school in the AMERICAS with proficient experience in contract negotiations and version management
  • Attention to detail, to ensure high quality and consistency of output
  • Experience with Cash Management products, services, and documentation (and knowledge of applicable law, regulation, and industry standards) is preferred
  • Focus on operating as an effective legal risk manager with ability to consider legal and regulatory risk alongside reputational and commercial considerations
  • Ability to work independently and assume responsibility for own workload from an early stage, also able to work well with colleagues across Legal, the Business and other functions on transactional, policy and project-based work

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Experience working as an attorney/paralegal in an international environment, ideally in financial services
  • Strong analytical, written, and oral communication and relationship-building skills

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $80,000 to $130,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
