Job Description Varian is looking for an Electrical Engineer with Quality compliance experience to be responsible for:


 

  • Review, and improve supplier manufacturing processes to ensure world-class quality and maximum productivity.
  • Sourcing/Qualification of electrical components and sub-systems to improve quality/reliability, performance, and reduce cost
  • Development and implementation of actions from Value Engineering (VE) & Design for X (DfX) conventions in factory/supply base.
  • Design of tooling, fixtures, and packaging to aid in the supplier build and assembly processes and ensure safe transport
  • Develop prototypes and design tests to verify and validate design/sourcing changes.
  • Investigate and document quality related activities (containment, root cause investigation, dispositions, corrective and preventive actions)
  • Understand and troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide supply chain technical support
  • Write Engineering Change Notice's(ECN's) to resolve documentation issues and improve manufacturability
  • Provide technical review and assessment when qualifying new suppliers
  • Writing and reviewing First Article Inspection Plans and reports and providing technical feedback on nonconforming material

Job Requirements Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in creating, reviewing, and editing of relevant technical documents. Proficient in employing the latest industry techniques and practices. Familiar with the latest available tools or standards used in the industry to complete task(s). Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired. Typical Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of related experience or Masters Degree with 3 years of related experience.

 

  • Collaborate with commodity management team to optimize supply chain.
  • Assist commodity team management with technical support.
  • Project management experience with proven record of achieving synergy among cross-functional groups.
  • Comfortable with working outside of job boundaries and taking initiative in developing process improvements.
  • Strategic thinking and planning with an emphasis on quality and costs.
