The Global Digital Experience team provides ground breaking digital solutions to deliver market leading digital client experiences and creating innovative ideas that bridges mobile, desktop, back office and other digital media to provide solutions and services that are driven by customer insight and business & local market demands across Personal Investing, Wholesale, Institutional, Advisory and Workplace Investing.The Global Digital experience team is in a leading position to respond and adapt in an evolving ecosystem to achieve Fidelity’s strategic goals, deliver best in class digital experiences to our customers, and provide exciting growth opportunities for our employees.

Role overview

This role will support the GDS Leads and for the Digital Experience Studio designers, to progress and enable Fidelity’s Digital agenda and embed digital standards and high quality design in the Dalian digital experience studio to support the drive for quality, consistency and efficiency in delivering our end user experiences.

Specifically, this role will serve to feed into the GDS function and support designers in Dalian, ensuring the quality and consistency of our digital products follows our Global Design Standards (GDS), interface with the GDS lead, channel experience and service design teams. Make sure that you and your design colleagues follow the correct GDS Standards

Key Responsibilities 

  • Acts as an advocate for Global Digital Standards & Practice team across the business and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, design and engineering teams
  • Create new or updated design system components for use on websites and mobile apps
  • Be an advocate for consistent design standards and be on top of the latest design trends and patterns in the industry
  • Addressing design issues through collaboration
  • Champion the good design practices and help educate your stakeholders of their benefits in your region
  • Responsibility for your delivery design output in Dalian
  • Maintain relationships with technology & engineering teams to ensure the correct implementation of design into code
  • Help develop the GDS function and their perception in the business
  • Contribute to the overall success of the GDS&P function in Dalian

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • 3+ years in a digital design role
  • Demostratable experience of designing and solving complex UI problems with support
  • Evidence of being a strong learner and high capacity to grow own design skills
  • Experience of working with design systems (either creating them or using them) in different platforms
  • Experience of designing for responsive websites
  • Abilitiy to explain your approach and show how you got to a design decision
  • Ability to present and defend your work to team members and stakeholders with support
  • Experience of working harmoniously with technology, marketing and businesses teams to align around creating and implementing digital standards.
  • Prototyping and design skills using industry standard tools such as Sketch, Axure, Figma, Adobe suite
  • Be fluent in English and working with global teams across timezones
  • Experience in deploying digital best practices for digital based solutions, continuous optimisation within a mid-large organisation
  • Stakeholder and influencing skills, including communication, negotiation of deadlines and requirements, management of expectation, recommendations, quality of outputs etc.
  • Demonstrable experience of working to conceptual briefs provided by an internal or external stakeholders and clients
  • Desirable but not essential skills: Designing to meet Accessbility (WCAG) requirements, Gesture based UX design, Native Apps (Adroid/iOS), Voice UI, HTMl/CSS/JS, conversational design, GenAI
