Job Summary:

As part of the Pharmacy Technology Solutions Rx Product Management team, the Senior Product Manager uses business analysis and product management skills to assess the feasibility of new product/feature offerings and define product requirements for dispensary software systems and related pharmacy technology products and integrations, while working closely with customers, stakeholders and product development teams. As part of an Agile development team, the Senior Product Manager will be responsible in guiding the team to make requirements a reality.

Section A – Specific Responsibilities:

  • Execute the technology shared vision across the company on short and long-term priorities.
  • Responsible for leading and collaborating with other product management team members on projects or tasks, including mentoring junior team members.
  • Assess feasibility of new product functionality and integrations with third party vendors, offer solutions and provide estimates.
  • Prepare Product relevant documents (SoW, Business Cases, Option Analysis, etc.).
  • Leads Product Management team meetings (backlog refinement, release planning, prioritization) and other inter-team meetings, take meeting minutes and follow up on action items.
  • Represents PTS in various customer-focused user groups to present roadmap, demo functionality and elicit business and workflow requirements.
  • Represent PTS with various vendor partners (e.g. Regulatory bodies, Third Party plans, etc.).
  • Tracks competitive products and gives input to strategies that counter competitive strengths and exploit competitor weaknesses
  • Produces end user documentations for the product features and integrations as well as leads Product demos.

Section B – Main Responsibilities:

  • Leads and/or supports various stages of the Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).
  • Ensures stakeholder requirements are captured, analyzed, justified, and included in development by reviewing regulatory requirements, feedback from user groups and pilot programs.
  • Recommend solutions and offerings by conducting option analysis.
  • Understand and support an iterative, cross-functional product development life cycle.
  • Work with Agile Scrum or Kanban teams as their dedicated Product Owner.
  • Within scrum, owns requirements for new products or enhancements to existing products, including backlog grooming, product requirements (user stories), acceptance testing, sprint demos, pilot management.
  • Balance and decide on features and issues while prioritizing across potentially conflicting objectives and constraints for better alignment.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert on new offerings, providing knowledge transfer to other teams (e.g. training, sales, support, etc.).
  • Lead and coordinate interactions with partner vendors in relation to our product offerings.
  • Correspond with third parties and government agencies on behalf of the pharmacies.
  • Coordinate with Provincial Government to coordinate legislation change and collect requirements.
  • Mentor junior product team members including peer review of user stories.
  • Leads process creation and improvement activities for internal and cross-functional teams.
  • Support the design, development and coordination of product launch activities.
  • Support the direction of technology by interfacing with product development, operations, sales and other internal stakeholders.

Section C – Key Requirements:

  • College or University degree in a relevant discipline, such as Business Administration, Computer Science, Health Information Science;
  • 5+ years of product experience in a software development company role preferably in healthcare/pharmacy management software;
  • Healthcare standards/integrations and Pharmacy domain knowledge highly desirable;
  • Experience with Product Development Life Cycle and Software Development Life Cycle;
  • Well-versed in pragmatic institute principles, business analysis, functional requirements specification;
  • Process improvement and Lean methodology experience;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered. 

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$84,500 - $140,800
