Job Summary:

The Inside Sales Associate is accountable for results in a fast-paced environment by researching and identifying new leads as prospects to meet business development goals. This is an entry-level position with a career path and upward mobility into business development roles. The Inside Sales Associate is a “hunter” – a highly inquisitive and motivated self-starter with a tenacious drive and ability to research and generate new business prospects for the entire Alcami service offerings including Analytical Testing, Sterile fill finish and oral solid dose manufacturing, Biostorage and other Pharma Support services, through cold calling and email campaigns. The Inside Sales Associate assists and works collaboratively with cross functional team members, including Marketing, Business Development, and Operations to generate new leads and follow through. Remote role but must be near an Alcami facility preferably Raleigh, NC or Wilmington, NC.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle inbound leads from various marketing channels – Web forms, Tradeshows, Email, etc.
  • Utilize various tools (LinkedIn, Global Data, and SFDC) to research the Lead and learn about their budget, authority to buy, needs, and timing, etc.
  • Reach out to the Leads assigned via Email, Phone, and LinkedIn (among other routes) utilizing a “call strategy” to maximize outreach efficiency.
  • Qualify the Lead from your interactions with them and record your progress in the CRM (SFDC), as well as use the MAP to track email opens, forwards, click-throughs, etc.
  • Partner with Marketers to develop messaging and on-brand communications to properly present Alcami to potential customers (Leads).
  • Collaborate with Business Development team to ensure that the Leads qualified are Opportunity-ready and of high-quality for BD to continue the conversation.
  • Engage in proactive targeting campaigns to secure Outbound Leads, as well as specific area/region targets based on Field Sales trips in the US.
  • Initial outreach interactions to be followed up with proper legal documents to begin conversations with Leads, such as NDA’s (Confidentiality Agreements / Non-Disclosure Agreements).
  • Collect competitive intelligence through conversation with prospective leads, as well as Loss/Disqualification metrics to improve future success.
  • Other duties as assigned; may need to provide assistance with Tradeshow events or other Marketing efforts.
  • Maintains accurate customer data and updates to the Customer Relationship Management system (Sales Force). Be a power user of salesforce.com.
  • Generates timely reports (i.e. activity reports, metrics, sales targets or forecasts) as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Life Sciences) required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of related experience in Inside Sales function or experience of dealing with customers, preferably in a technical capacity.
  • Prior pharmaceutical or CDMO experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of cGMP and drug development process through course work or prior work experience required.
  • Prior pharmaceutical or CDMO experience in technical functions of development or manufacturing preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Excellent project management, organization skills and ability to effectively multitask required.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills required.
  • Results oriented, determined and a self-starter; comfortable, willing and able to make cold calls.
  • Must be able to write coherent emails and messages to effectively communicate with customers.
  • Ability to persistently follow up with prospects and leads, and be able to get to the decision-maker while passing any gatekeepers.
  • Proven planning and organization skills to efficiently manage competing priorities.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office, CRM (SFDC/Salesforce.com), and additional systems to assist lead generation.
  • Strong team player to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency utilizing internet and social media tools for researching potential leads.
  • Technology orientation with the ability to gain proficiency using a Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) required.

Travel Expectations:

  • Up to 10% travel.
