Job Description:

This position supports the research enterprise and external funding for faculty across the Dean of the Faculty's (DOF) nearly 60 departments and centers. The position assists in all aspects of proposal development, from conceptualizing aims to building compelling project narratives to developing proposal text and successful submission strategies.

The position provides support for grant applications to federal funding agencies, non-profit funding organizations, and foundations. This position will help draft, edit, proofread, and provide a comprehensive editorial review of proposals, as well as write and/or provide writing support across a variety of disciplines.

The position is initially for a duration of 2 years, with annual renewals subject to satisfactory work performance. After the initial 2-year period, the potential for renewal is contingent upon the availability of funding.

This position is hybrid-eligible.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required and 5-7 years of related grant-writing experience, preferably in an academic setting. A graduate degree is preferred.
  • Excellent time management, critical thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of federal funding guidelines, compliance issues, and complex budgets.
  • Willingness and interest in assuming increasing levels of responsibilities, networking, leadership, and training opportunities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate clearly and concisely (written and verbal).
  • Must be strongly detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong persuasive writing skills.
  • Must be able to work under high-pressure deadlines.
  • Possess a willingness and ability to support and promote a diverse and inclusive campus community.
