SUMMARY
Human Resources Managers coach, support and advise People Managers to develop and enhance the quality of people management with the intent of having a direct and positive impact on the quality of the colleague experience. He/ She will be the key to the deployment and adoption of new processes or initiatives aimed at People Managers. He/ She understands and reflects the local market perspective whilst respecting the value of enterprise-wide alignment where appropriate, providing guidance on local issues, including works council, legislative and regulatory regulations which relate to employment. He/ She will also provide valuable insights to the Centres of Expertise which informs the development and prioritization of initiatives, programs and projects designed for colleagues and/or People Managers. He/ She will work with People Managers and work with other HR Managers to exercise flexibility in resource to accommodate flexibility in demand. The HR Manager will make impact as a seasoned, professional individual contributor, ready to manage projects, work independently, help teammates thrive and collaborate with stakeholders across the company.

We will count on you to:
- Manage human capital programs which supports both the business plan and corporate HR strategy.
- Provide recommendations for human capital change initiatives and small change activities for specific client groups.
- Ensure the appropriate execution of actions resulting from organization re-design.
- Assist reward strategies for client businesses, ensuring clear linkages between reward and recognition and performance, contribution and long-term potential.
- Advise business on all matters of HR related operations and policies.
- Support talent management programs including performance management, coaching, training, career development and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Provide guidance to clients about the importance of colleague engagement and drive actions to improve this in collaboration with the business.
- Identify opportunities to make improvements to the services provided by HR. Collaborate effectively with other HR Centres of Excellence (including HR Services, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards etc.). Demonstrate a willingness and aptitude to work to define and implement changes that will deliver better overall service to People Managers.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, preferably in human resource or business-related field.
- A minimum of 7 years’ HR generalist/ business partnering experience gained from a leading multinational organization. Working knowledge of Japan’s employment ordinance and labour requirements is a must.
- A thorough understanding of HR processes and operations. A team player that possesses a strong hands-on approach on HR matters.
- A strong understanding of HR best practices and compliance in Japan. Prior experience in supporting managers with employee relations cases including investigations and administration of hearings.
- Demonstrated ability to coach People Managers in the business effectively through all aspects of the employee life cycle. Ability to navigate difficult and complex situations with tact.
- Proven HR executive with effective communication, negotiation and influencing skills to deal effectively with colleagues in all parts of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and in a highly matrixed environment, while juggling a multitude of stakeholders. Able to work collaboratively with local and regional team members.
- Detail-minded with strong project management skills. Self-driven and the ability to work with little supervision and tight timelines. Comfortable working in a highly matrixed, fast-paced and agile environment.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Japanese.
- Good command on MS Office applications (MS-Excel, MS-Word, Outlook). Strong IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
