Molex is seeking a Senior Vice President, Business Development & Corporate Strategy. This role will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will be based in Molex’s headquarters in Lilse, IL.

The successful candidate will possess the capability, risk profile, and enthusiasm to drive profitable growth, a willingness to challenge the status quo, and a proven ability to act as a constructive change agent across multiple business lines. These business lines are focused on delivering engineered equipment, technologies, services, and full projects across numerous industries. This individual will be an intrinsic self-starter and principled entrepreneur with a demonstrated ability to develop and execute creative strategies and solutions. They will be an effective leader and developer of talent, and a trusted thought partner to Molex business leaders, demonstrating a collaborative approach to business strategy, growth, and portfolio management. As a valued member of the Molex leadership team, they will deliver strong strategic and economic thinking that profitably transforms the results and increases the long-term value of the business.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the Molex Business Development team to develop investment theses, originate, screen, and underwrite compelling growth, acquisition, and investment opportunities. Opportunities will include bolt-ons that fit existing businesses, extending Molex capabilities and offerings to serve new customers, verticals, and geographies, and step-out acquisitions or investments that might serve as the foundation for new platforms that fit the Molex vision.
  • Oversee the Molex Business Development team in performing industry research and competitive analysis. Develop proprietary and actionable points-of-view and strategies supporting potential projects, investments, or acquisitions.
  • Oversee and guide transaction structuring, negotiation, and diligence efforts associated with potential acquisitions or investments.
  • Create proprietary deal access and position Molex as the acquirer/partner of choice by developing strong relationships with an ever-growing roster of target company founders and owners, and investment banking, private equity, and venture capital entities.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders including working with colleagues across Molex and the respective Koch companies and capabilities.
  • Develop conviction in actionable points-of-view by engaging external knowledge sources, including industry leaders, experts, and emerging technology companies to gather and provide feedback on market trends and dynamics.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Senior leader with a demonstrated record of increasing responsibilities leading a business unit or capability team.
  • Deep experience in financial and economic decision-making.
  • Experience in corporate/business development, capital allocation, investments, and acquisitions.
  • Experience partnering, leading, and influencing through change initiatives or business transformation.
  • Team, Culture and Talent Development: Attract, coach and develop high-performing teams and develop a collaborative and challenging team environment.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • P&L ownership experience.
  • Experience working across a broad range of technologies and industries within Molex key markets including automotive, data center, industrial automation, healthcare, 5G, cloud and consumer device industries.
