Overview

Provides magnetic resonance imaging procedures within scope of practice, including receiving and preparing patients and equipment for procedures and maintaining supplies for the MRI department. Produces high quality scans by following protocols set forth by the radiology department. Operates MRI equipment in a safe and proficient manner within the boundaries of competence, based on documented education, training, supervised experience, state and national professional credentials, and appropriate professional experience. Works with students from approved educational institutions.

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT 

Associate's degree from a 2-year college or technical school or two years (60 credit hours) coursework from 4-year college or university or three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

An additional two (2) years of experience is required.

COMPUTER SKILLS

An individual should have knowledge of Database software Internet software Inventory software Order processing systems Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Must be currently certified in Radiography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R). Must obtain BLS and maintain during employment. 

Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG&rsquos Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA&rsquos List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG&rsquos List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Computed Tomography Experience preferred but not required. Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand walk use hands to finger, handle, or feel reach with hands and arms talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts risk of radiation and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions high, precarious places fumes or airborne particles toxic or caustic chemicals outside weather conditions extreme cold extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
