Title: Senior Manager, Research and Insights 

Job Type: Full Time, Hybrid In-Office Required 

Job Location: New York, NY

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 OTE

Role Summary:

Kargo is looking for a dynamic and passionate researcher to join our Research and Insights team– a strategic, cross-functional group that directly supports multiple functions of the business.

We are seeking someone with strong expertise in proving ad effectiveness, who understands the value of uncovering insights from internal and external data. This position requires an analytical and strategic mind that is able to absorb large amounts and varied sources of data while having the capability to see the “why” beyond the data to provide insights. Successful candidates will possess strong intellectual curiosity and a passion for achieving practical business impact. Skills in problem definition, analysis, and recommendation development will also be critical.

The Senior Manager, Research & Insights will be responsible for developing thought leadership and proprietary research on the role of mobile and video advertising, supporting major RFPs, and working closely with the Sales team to conduct ad effectiveness studies across our network. This role will also play a critical role in helping marketers understand campaign performance.

What You'll Do:

  • Leverage syndicated and custom ROI/ad effectiveness research methods to show performance
  • Internal research expert to the sales teams, surfacing trends, consumer insights, and opportunities from primary research and syndicated sources
  • Deliver unique thought leadership research for the company that can be used to develop deeper insights and client relationships
  • Participate in client-facing strategy sessions and research presentations to further relationships with the largest advertisers
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, and Product to ensure the success of Kargo
  • Internal research expert to the sales teams, surfacing trends, consumer insights, and opportunities from primary research and syndicated sources
  • Work with the Data team to mine internal data and gain insights that can be used for product development and marketing
  • Work closely with marketing teams to market thought leadership, develop brand positioning, and produce case studies showcasing best practices

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in advertising effectiveness and primary custom research
  • Direct experience with research services like comScore, Nielsen, Metrix Lab, Four Square, Dynata, Millward, Brown Digital, Moat, eMarketer etc.
  • Experience conceiving of, executing, and working with Marketing to produce custom research and thought leadership studies
  • Experience analyzing the ROI of media campaigns and initiatives
  • Experience with creative evaluations
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to formulate innovative solutions to complex problems and keep ahead of industry trends
  • Experience supporting advertising agencies and sales/business development teams with consumer insight initiatives
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and demonstrable ability to motivate high-performing teams
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
  • Expert Excel user and ability to extract and manipulate data with a high degree of accuracy
  • Experience in managing direct reports
