I. Job Summary

The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Lead Developer must go above and beyond in leading and contributing to development projects, while also practicing superb collaboration and communication skills.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned. 

  • Design, develop, test, document, and deploy high quality business solutions on the SFMC platform based on industry best practices as well as business needs. 
  • Expertise in implementations covering Marketing Cloud, inclusive of Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, and Data Extensions, AMP scripting, SQL, Contact management. Experience integrating Salesforce core CRM applications.
  • Oversees and leads design/coding sessions, develops solutions, and implements solutions. 
  • Experience working with various mar-tech tools (e.g. digital asset managers, tag managers, analytics platforms, etc.) and developing solutions that make the most of the existing technology ecosystem.
  • The candidate should be able to provide a POV on setting up a robust technology stack that improves marketing performance. 
  • Experience in SFMC integration patterns and sends via API’s, triggered sends, data extracts. 
  • Integration experience using both Web based technologies (Soap, Rest) and Integration/Middleware tools such as MuleSoft, Webmethods etc.
  • Working experience of data pipelining feeds into Marketing cloud, via ETL/batch jobs.
  • When necessary, the candidate will secure buy-in from internal stakeholders across the organization.
  • Mentors and fosters growth of peers and team members 

III. Supervisory Responsibilities

Will coach and mentor less-experienced analysts and act as team leader on highly complicated systems projects. 

IV. Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. 

A. Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) in Computer Science, MIS, or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience. 
  • Experience: Ten (10) years of previous experience required (in addition to education requirement).
  • Preferred Experience: 
  • Five (5) years Salesforce Marketing cloud and related products experience
  • Hands-on experience in Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Data Extensions, AMP scripting, Contact Management
  • Familiarity with a broad range of mar-tech platforms including digital asset managers, analytics dashboards and tag management systems. 
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Integration experience with multiple platforms and technologies

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

  • Preferred: Marketing Cloud Administrator, Marketing Cloud Developer, Marketing Cloud Consultant

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

Technically advanced knowledge or in-depth skills in one or more of the following is required:

  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment that includes business leads and external agencies, 
  • Problem solving mindset to find solutions and resources to drive a project forward. 

D. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities that Contribute to Success

May require technically advanced or in-depth skills in one or more of the following:

  • Web application development, imaging technology.
