The aim of this project is to improve the process models library currently available in gFormulated and MATLAB. Objective one is to develop a model for compression in a rotary tablet press taking in consideration the connection with the previous unit (e.g. roller compaction) and the impact of process parameters on the product quality. The second objective of the internship is to validate a gFormulate flowsheet that allows the prediction of product quality of tablets manufactured via Continuous Direct Compression via Mini-Batch Blending: 1) familiarize with existing gFP flowsheet, 2) validate all units with respect to product quality (experimental data already available) and 3) set up a documented procedure and guideline on how the flowsheet can be used practically for associate training, what-if scenarios and in-silico DoEs.
