Position overview:

This is an exciting role to support the operations of the Technology Transfer and Strategic Partnerships (TT&SP) Office ensuring execution of the teams’ functions across strategic partner development, tech transfer programs, and proposals and agreements operations. It is a unique opportunity to join a growing team and help establish operational excellence by applying innovation and creativity, along with strong organizational and analytical skills, while collaborating with a variety of stakeholders across the TT&SP teams and other organizations.

You will report to the director of TT&SP and perform duties with limited guidance:

  • Develop, run, evaluate, and optimize team processes.
  • Support and/or lead the collection and reporting of TT&SP operational and program metrics, including DOE data calls; synthesize data into helpful dashboards extracting key insigths and proactively recommending and implementing solutions.
  • Develop and organize internal and external TT&SP communication and collaboration platforms. 
  • Lead the engagement of TT&SP with SLAC internship programs and Employee Resource Groups.
  • Support high priority projects and programs as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and external requirements.
  • Support other administrative tasks as needed.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Review and analyze trends to advise and develop recommendations to achieve or modify the goals of the program or function.
  • Lead operations aspects for programs or functions that have significant business and regulatory challenges.
  • Evaluate programs or functions, policies and procedures. Identify issues and develop alternative solutions which may include changes to programs, policies and procedures.
  • Represent the program or function within the department and provide information and/or training. Represent the program or function at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
  • Manage and contribute to the development of outreach strategies that may include relationship development, communications and compliance.
  • May develop and/or oversee budgets; manage finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Assess training needs and may develop associated training.
  • May direct and/or supervise staff.

To be successful in this position you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem solving and, decision-making skills

  • Demonstrated ability in data analytics (SmartSheet, Tableau, Excel, etc.)

In addition, preferred requirements include:

  • Prior business experience working in an environment with significant regulations and compliance; experience handling business sensitive interactions and information appropriately.
  • Prior experience in supporting team operations within a fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to function and deliver tasks effectively across teams with remote/hybrid/onsite work arrangements.
  • Working knowledge of budget planning.

The expected pay range for this position is $66,000 - $120,000 per annum. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory/Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
